On the bright side, we might get the full trailer tonight

How DARE you ask for basic functionality. Youā€™re such a grumbler. :joy::joy::joy: but thank God London will look normal.

Marcom 101: under-promise and over-deliver.

You may want to take a read of the first paragraph at the provided link. It would only be more official if it had directly been said by Jorg.

Surely you mean under deliver and over promise?

Jorg in the last Q&A: ā€œItā€™ll be days, not weeksā€

2 weeks later: ā€œItā€™s locked in for a release next weekā€

You need to wait a few more days for a free scenery update to a sim that already has the most advanced and detailed worldwide scenery. An update that most other publishers would release as paid DLC. But is free. And you need to wait a few days for them to continue polishing said free update to further improve it.

The horror!

Iā€™m amazed that all of these major updates are free and appreciate it. Need a few more days for polishing? No problem and thank you!

Correctly stated. And weā€™ll see another Twitch with a ā€œI donā€™t know what you mean? Or I donā€™t see this issueā€

This is why a lot of us are frustrated. Is it the end of the world? No. Is this just a game? Yes. Are we continuously being over promised on things? Absolutely. Do we believe anything that Asobo says? Not really.

Hereā€™s a definition of the word anticipate:

VERB

anticipated (past tense) Ā· anticipated (past participle)

regard as probable; expect or predict.

The link you provided actually says the anticipated (see above definition) date, which is not a given, absolute or guaranteed date. What Maddin91 said is correct, and the link you provided actually collaborates it.

Donā€™t shoot yourself in the other foot.

No one really is upset about the UK scenery. A lot of us care deeply that the premium aircraft are a joke, that there still hasnā€™t been any new airliners added, that a free mod community is making an airplane way better than the publisher has, that several basic things in a simulator still arenā€™t even developed (replay, ATC, AI, AI behaviors, etc). This is what weā€™re frustrated with because we all know that if the UK is delayed, after three times, then itā€™s safe to say everything else promised is delayed. It just gets old, as others have said, this is definitely not the first time.

I prefer MSFS FFS

ā€¦sure, we only paid Ā£120 each, + various add-on + investing in some high spec hardware (some of us at least) to actually make it work at a reasonable fps with a decent level of smoothness . What`s sad though is that one of the members here had to step in and fix or find a solution to the terrain spikes which were introduces by latest patch and promised will be fixed in days by the devs. A lot of people seem to forget that this is the third delay, sorry but not good enough service!

[ā€¦] most advanced and detailed worldwide scenery.
Sorry, no, not most detailed, IMHO.
Airports missing because they are not in Bing maps?
Most detailed?
Seriously?
Most detailed would have been when google and bing maps have been used.

We hear your frustration that we can do better.

What we (the community team) are really asking for here: If we had a magical time machine, what could we have done better in this specific situation?

Absolutely diabolical. the audacity to ask for you ā€œcontinuedā€ patience. what a farce.

Delayed? Good. That means itā€™ll get more polish.

I think for starters donā€™t tie your self to these Sim Update and World update time frames.

If something is ready ā€¦ TEST it and TEST it again, then make an announcement that tomorrow the update is coming.

We are actively working on an update for UK and will be released soon.

In the meanwhile keep improving and releasing without being held to some weird time frame.

The sim keeps growing the people are happy (donā€™t break more than you fix) and you donā€™t have some unreasonable time crunch on your end.

My two cents.

Time lines work only if delivery is guaranteed.

Frankly, I am quite sure that you reported it as soon as you learned about the delay. So the main lesson should be for the project team or however itā€™s called in the software world.

In terms of community team maybe it could have helped to come already with some explanations, context, etc. about why we get the info so late (this is in fact the main issue, not the delay itself) and also something to give us confidence that the next target date is for real. In these cases, transparency about failures really helps.

No, that means they cannot deliverā€¦also, and keep promises !

Thank you.
