You want RGB, 10 bpc, and full range for HDR.
That’s the issue, though - if I select RGB, it only lets me select 8 bpc, not 10.
Could be a limitation of your monitor or the cable. Good luck!
Here’s mine:
If I set the settings manually I can pick either 10 or 8 bpc. Using a DisplayPort cable with LG 34GP83A monitor at 3440x1440.
Thanks for your help, first of all.
I googled and found an article at tom’s hardware for the Asus Rog Swift PG27UQ monitor – you’re right, I can do RGB, 10 bpc and Full – but not at 120hz, only at 98hz. But I am going to try that – as I don’t think I’ll notice a big difference if I go “down” to 98hz from 120hz. Thank you!
Sure, FS2020 in HDR looks sweet but the Windows 10 desktop in HDR is a washed out mess. This is on the same TV that I have my PS5 connected up to and its HDR, even with SDR games mapped to HDR, is gorgeous. What gives?
I think it depends on the TV and how they interpret HDR to SDR to HDR conversion. My Windows 10 PC is always connected to my TV, and I always have Windows HDR on at all times. But I’m not getting the washed out mess. Perhaps my TV can detect the washed out colours and corrected the tone automatically.
