[1.3.10.0] SU1 Beta Survey - Performance (PC)

Sadly Poor. It doesn’t matter what setting you use…stutters always happen in the short final…it’s practically impossible to land. It got a lot worse with Beta 2.

As others have noticed, there is a performance degradation, especially in places like the airport. The lack of smoothness during camera rotation is very noticeable – it’s not stuttering.

I didn’t notice any stuttering during takeoff, cruise or landing and I also didn’t have any issues with sound, such as interruptions or stuttering. In any case, the first beta iteration was much better in terms of performance.

Had to rate this version as poor, in particular compared to Beta1. VR only on 4090/Varjo Aero with DLSS4 (TAA in 2024 is not viable). Massive latency when starting on the runway (default or hand crafted), then improving after take off and shortly thereafter, big spikes in latency. By the time I finish the traffic pattern, on finals, it becomes unplayable. Default C172

Voted poor.
I only fly in VR. I know there has lots of discussion about the Vram bug but this only really happens to me in the Beta.
I have no addons at all.

Playing in the carreer mode mostly with the 737 but all aircraft are the same.

Busy airports take off 36fps (lows)
Cruise 47-60fps between 1hr/2hrs with max 2x sim rate.
Landing <15

Making it unplayable.

I go back to standard with all the same setting and its fine BUT has all the bugs that beta has now fixed…

The same in the crystal light!

2nd this.
I always have to restart the pc between flights.

I immediately uninstalled, from the outset was getting comstant micro stuttering that was not there previously.
7800X3D, 32GB DDR5 and 4080 Super at 1440p, Ultra settings.

This was also running Fenix, GSX and BATC with FSLTL and Navigraph plugin

I upgraded from an old 5800x with 32 GB ram to a 98003dx with 64 GB ram 3 weeks ago. Yesterday I took delivery of a Samsung g9 ultrawide monitor which I now run alongside my old 3440x1440 monitor. The constant is my trusty old 3080ti which most of you will know has only 12gb vram.

Msfs2024 runs butter smooth on this rig but only if I’m sensible with settings, if I push tlod too far beyond about 150 I get too close to saturation so I’ve dialed down to 125. I now find dlss much crisper than it used to be and is easier on my system than taa, over New York with most settings matching the High End preset I get 45 FPS at monitor native resolution of 5120x1440. I have the frame generation hack installed but choose not to use it so I lock vsync settings at 33% refresh rate (set at 120hz) and it never so much as hiccups. Unfortunately as soon I introduce ai aircraft either via the in game options or FSLTL I encounter bad stutters at airports, especially if I crank up the number of aircraft and try taxiing around places like Heathrow. This is despite having masses of headroom, CPU usage is low, GPU is in the 50–70% range, ram stays less than half of the available 64gb and vram peaks at about 9gb.

If someone finds a solution that lets me keep current settings while having lots of moving air traffic at busy airports then I’ll be over the moon!

You need more choices for the survey. There should be “still poor” to differentiate from worse than before and better than before.

Loading time down to just over one minute. Big improvement. Still plenty of issues but nothing that prevents me from flying.
