Well that’s just the thing - Having to make these kind of concessions is not as the developer intended. It’s actually quite insulting to the developers who put so much work into these remarkable renditions of aircraft/avionics, only to have them made unusable by sim performance issues beyond their control.
Which then begs the bigger question… What even is the point of SU16? If it’s going to make 2020 worse in any way, I don’t want it. A new GDK that was supposed to bring memory management/performance improvement? I have yet to see ANY evidence of that - It’s far worse now than ever before. New aerials/visual elements? In many cases, these look worse than the public build, and bring new problems into the environment that weren’t there before (random trees in the ocean, low detail areas, random dark lines scarring the landscape, etc.).
From every indication, I am under the impression that SU16 is slated to be the last major sim update for MSFS 2020. If that is indeed the case, it is of utmost importance that the sim be left in a better state than SU15 in every single way, with no regressions.
Devs, please, delay SU16 as long as you need to in order to ensure we are left with a product that looks and performs at the same level (or hopefully better) than SU15. PLEASE don’t rush this and kill our sim.
