A real step in the right direction! I really like being able to download much of the program, though we are still vulnerable to server failures, as I experienced this morning. Framerate was rated as excellent by the radeon software (160fps @1440p/ Ultra (7900xt) using FSR3). I did notice microstutters at EHAM, but approaching VHHH was as smooth as glass. VHHH was underpopulated with traffic. I really like the improvements in how the EFB interacts with the aircraft, much improved (though the premise of how to achieve correct CG is faulty). The 747-8F still needs work, but is flyable. I had 2 CTD and a server failure before finally having a successful flight. But even in the failures, I could see improvements. With good reason, I have been critical up until recently, but the end of the SU2 beta showed progress, and I am seeing real progress now, and want to encourage that and more!
Good performance with 2d graphics but VR is terrible. It often becomes a slide show unfortunately. Improved control menus, SU2 was extremely slow and caused CTDs. Wish it could improve further as it takes too long to search for and load specific settings for different aircraft types.
Great overall performance, graphically and in frame time consistency, i.e. it’s smooth! I’d say the best achieved in either 2020 or 2024 so far. Of course it maybe my 9800X3D/RTX 4090 making the sim experience is so satisfactory.
I’m exclusively a Free Flight user so main issues remain with bugs in the aircraft; I’ve Premium Delux and the number of bugs and range of quality between model’s leaves a lot to be desired. Still some minor annoyances in the UI too. I’m sure all these negatives are being worked on by the team.
If SU3 had been the version released in November then (in my view) Asobo would have quite rightly been praised for a major step forward in the simulation software sector. Sadly we all know what did happen…ah well
Big improvement in performance, less vram consumed. Downloaded 900+ items. Tested with Fenix a320.
