:warning: Reminder:

No improvement whatsoever on the previous builds for me. Stuttering still ridiculously bad - stop motion slideshow at departure and arrival airport. OMDB - OTHH, inibuilds A330, XSX.

Had a decent enough flight in the Aerosoft CRJ… Performance was about the same as the last build for the most part, and visuals/LOD were impressive up at cruise. Everything was perfectly fine and enjoyable.

BUT on approach to my destination airport, I started to get massive stutters/frame drops, and noticed LOD was deteriorating quickly into a blurry mess. This got worse and worse the closer I got to CYQB, and I then knew exactly what was waiting for me on the ground…. Static aircraft as far as the eye can see. Every gate filled. Every ramp filled. Absolutely nowhere to park.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE allow Xbox users the option to disable static aircraft and ground vehicles. This is tanking our performance, and is outright ridiculous. I don’t know how many times we have to ask for this simple fix that will make a world of difference for us.

I think the inibuilds default aircraft are perhaps not well optimised Xbox and this is adding to the issues I’m personally experiencing. However, my performance once in the air is always absolutely fine - never an issue.

The issues for me are whilst on the ground before takeoff and final approach / landing. Interestingly, the parked static aircraft always seem to be reduced when I first load in. I would say static aircraft are probably around 50% at the departure airport and whilst I do have issues at this stage, it’s no where near as bad as final approach and landing at the arrival airport. Default static aircraft take up 95% of spaces at the arrival airport and the extreme drop I get in performance coincides with that.

I’m sure some planes are better optimised then others, but no amount of optimisation will account for the static parked aircraft. Asobo - please listen to the comments we make after every single beta build and give us the option to remove this static traffic, otherwise the survey is frankly pointless.

How did you get the CRJ to work on 2024? For me the marketplace shows not available. (Xbox)

Asobo, give us the option to remove static planes and fauna on Xbox or stop bothering us. There’s no beta that can handle that mess. There are F18s parked on a dirt runway, A350s at the gate of very small airports, pg off mp off ai traffic off…5fps, where are we going?

Try setting AI traffic to Live instead. I’m on a Series S, have traffic set to Live, and I’m not seeing over crowded airports or ridiculous aircraft. Running well on my end. Oh, and photogrammetry on.

As I said, the purchased aircraft work almost without stuttering during takeoff and landing, so it is partly due to the inbuilt aircraft poor optimization

For me that only made things worse by adding lots of moving aircraft to the mix. But my 70mb internet connection can barely handle everything being off. Adding multiplayer, photogrammetry or real world traffic to the mix and it becomes a slideshow

I’ve tried everything, and even though I downloaded the traffic planes, with real-time traffic, the fps drops prevent me from flying. I must point out that I’m talking about airliners; with smaller planes the situation changes and is definitely better. I’ve downloaded more than 200GB between packages and planes, etc., but I cant see if this helps performance, but in reality I don’t think it does.

Single seater bush planes do have understandably better performance but 3rd party aircraft seem to as well. It’s going to be very interesting to see how the PMDG 777-300ER performs when it releases onto Xbox for 2024 this week

I’ve also tried downloading all aircraft and didn’t notice a marked difference in performance

I have tested the same flight: full streamed and with departure/arrival airports and aircraft downloaded. There is no noticeable improvement on performance.

Also, on my test is not only single seater bush planes those who have better performance, but any GA with G1000, G3000 or G5000.

What I did see flying the Vision Jet or even the new Piper, even if the constant stutter is not present (like airliners), if you fly over a city, from time to time, you have a big stutter and half scenery disappears and reload.

I have tried:
multiplayer on/off (since 1.5.15 is greyed out and can’t be turned on).
live weather on/clear sky.
live traffic on/AI/off

All off, all on and any combination you can think, no improvements on performance.

IMPORTANT: after downloading 1.5.16 I noticed my cache was reset to 16GB (usually 64GB). I don’t know if this was a bug or something intended but not documented on the release notes.

If you already own the aircraft from 2020, you just need to find the CRJ in “My Library” in 2024 and toggle it to “Enable”. It was made available in 2024 earlier this week, but only if you already own it.

Does the PMDG 777-300 have simbrief?

Yes the Inibuilds aircraft are poorly optimised but I really do think when using the in sim EFB (not the Inibuilds one) puts a significant strain on performance also. I have done the same flight over and over with and without using the in sim EFB and every time I get much better performance when I don’t open or use the in sim EFB at all. To me it seems like once it’s used and even if you don’t use it again for remainder of the flight, the sim doesn’t seem to recover from the extra processing of using the EFB. Now this is speculation on my behalf being on an Xbox and not being able to run any diagnostics tests etc but every build so far exhibits the same behaviour when using or not using the in sim EFB.

I agree, I also noticed that asking to interrupt IFR to the ATC due to CDT. Every time ATC talks there are blocks and freezes

It does have simbrief yes. And navigraph charts accessible though the cockpit EFB (not the 2024 sim one)

As much as we can’t deep dive on what’s going on like you say, it’s very fair to say that this is what is happening when we are all seeing it. The sim EFB puts a real strain on the resources and if you dare send a flight plan to ATC then you’re in for a very rough flight

I’d love to be able to give my assessment of the performance of version 1.5.16.0 but I have been trying for 67 minutes (and counting), 5 sim restarts, and 2 Xbox restarts to try and get the EFB to take the VFR flight plan I have created and successfully upload it to the avionics. This isn’t what people should expect to have to pay for.

I am sitting at the start screen and will give it one more try for today, but I’m not expecting much difference.

Lots more frozen avionics, stutters and restarts required at start of flight, and general glitches along the way. Seems more stutters than normal. Only ever fly the A320 and A321.
