MSFS2024 SU3 Beta 1.5.17.0 Xbox X VRAM Performance Feedback

–The release of the iniBuilds A350 for Xbox users this week had me excited…but yet again, the VRAM/memory leak issues with MSFS2024 is a nonstarter.
Did a quick 35-minute test flight KTLH-KATL (both default scenery). As you can see from the pics, upon landing at KATL the game ran out of VRAM as I was taxiing into the ramp. All avionics went to black and the plane dropped anchor in the form of GPUs right then and there as if it were rebooting itself.
Even after loading back in and out of free flight the VRAM remained maxed out. Only a full reboot of the Xbox and game cleaned it out.
This continues to make it near impossible to consistently and reliably fly large airliners into commercial airports in this sim on Xbox.

I can see from the release notes that there are no user facing changes in this build and so I assume SU3 public release is imminent. Unfortunately it is not in a working state. The stuttering and freezing that the airliner flying Xbox community are experiencing mean takeoff is difficult and landing is just impossible, presumably due to the abundance of static traffic at each arrival airport that we are unable to remove. I sincerely hope the community managers can feed this back to the devs so that it is addressed as a priority in SU4 as it’s frankly unacceptable at this point.

Unfortunately the game is no fun with all the stuttering and you can’t fly (or land) properly. I’m going back to MFS 2020 for now. It’s a shame that they don’t listen to us Xbox players.

There’s simply not enough memory in the Xboxes for this simulator. We should have the option to turn off many things, not just traffic but static aircraft, fauna, road traffic. I would even bring back the old 2D foliage system from 2020, as the 3D trees are beautiful but obviously too resource intensive. The Xbox version needs some fundamental redesign or optimization because it just doesn’t look, run and work as it should, and it’s not even near 2020.

Well I did a flight in the A350 last night KDEN - KSFO (both 3rd party) couldn’t believe how smooth it was to begin with. Couple of micro stutters during walk around which was definitely acceptable.
Whole cruise and descent was smooth as silk in comparison to .16 as during cruise its went to single fps it was that bad in .16.

Get to final and I get a few sound stutters followed by short pauses during landing and rollout. Stutters increase as I turn off and my avionics went black. Unlike in 2020 where all systems would still work, in 2024 the whole Airbus 350 defaulted to cold & dark state with gpu attached. Started batteries back up and taxi along with gpu attached to gate. Avionics finally came back then waited for the OIS to boot up so I could resume shutdown procedures.
So these “back end changes” definitely helped but still not enough to alleviate these awful stutters and pauses. Total immersion killer. I hope it gets resolved asap.

Just setup a free flight with the Inibuilds A350 from default GAYA EGLL to default LFBO. Whilst at the gate it was consistently stuttering every few seconds. I persevered setting up the flight regardless. Once the OIS had booted up I connected jetway, imported my simbrief plan and this time on the return flight I decided to use the in sim EFB to import my simbrief web plan to see whether they had improved the performance of the in sim EFB. The short answer is No unfortunately. As soon as I clicked on flight planner on the in sim EFB, caused the A350 to black screen and default back to cold and dark. I once again persevered and waited for the avionics to come back online again. Once they did I started yet again but no sooner it black screened again so I force closed the sim.

The plus side of .17 though is no CTD’s whatsoever so far unlike .16 which would always end in a CTD after the black screens.

Folks, a number of posts have been removed as being off-topic & non-constructive. This is not the topic to voice opinions on the qualifications of the development team.

Please ensure your comments provide constructive feedback to the development team about the performance of this build on Xbox - e.g. description of your flight(s) and specifics of any issues you encountered.

Thanks!

Absolutely pathetic!
Description of flight. A320neo V2, any large airport, either black screens, severe stutters and freezes or black avionics. Any hand crafted airport is an almost guarantee of a CTD. Why even bother giving the option of aircraft selection when we can’t use what aircraft we want from whatever airport we want? Loads of static aircraft at airports destroying performance too. How many more times do we have to report the same things over and over again for them to not be addressed? I honestly don’t know how much more specific we can be.
I’m not even going to bother giving any feedback any more, as the mods and Devs have made it perfectly clear now that they really don’t care about anything we say any more unless it’s praise and positivity. I find it really difficult to be positive about the state of 24 any longer.
If I were to say oh it’s amazing I’m getting a constant 60fps flying out of Haneda airport in an airliner, my post wouldn’t be removed.
People are feeling very anxious about the future of 24 and rightly so, as we are 7 months in now and not much has improved in terms of performance.

This is close to the worst build I’ve used, close to November 2024 release
I can’t even navigate the menus without having to wait 15seconds for menu data to load in
Once loaded into a flight complete slide show stutters in the 747 and 787. Nice LOD, but the stutters are complete unacceptable
If they go with this and release it could be the end
