First impressions not great. Zurich to Heathrow, PMDG 777. Sim looks stunning on the ground and for the first few minutes was impeccably smooth. It soon started stuttering though, freezing for 1-2 seconds every 10 seconds or so.
Got up to cruise and the stutters didnt improve, had to quit the flight. Going to try another shortly after a cache wipe and reboot.
Also, still no traffic in the air.
Edit: I take it back. Clearing the cache again and rebooting the xbox has done the trick. Im doing the same flight, but this time it is flawless so far. No stutters, really good fps. And I’ve finally got air traffic! Air traffic complete with lights and contrails. Happy days
250mbps internet. PG off. Live traffic off. Fauna, parked traffic and vehicles all of. Multiplayer on. Characters and multiplayer traffic medium. Reset rolling cache.
Did a flight from Manchester to Barcelona in the ini A340 to test this build. Performance was really very bad. Historically my issues have been with approach and landing but this has now extended to being on the ground before takeoff. Huge, near constant stutters right from the get go to actually getting up in the air. Once in the air, performed fine (as it always has) but ground textures often just mush and street lights off in most places except directly in front of the camera. Approach and landing abysmal as usual. Mush ground textures popping in and out. Street lights turning off and then loading back on for roughly 3/4 seconds before popping off again. Large stutters every 3 seconds or so right the way down. Truly painful and no clear improvement from the last build. The sim is essentially unusable while it continues like this. No point even attempting flights.
Yeah, having watched your video that is exactly what my first attempt after the update was like. Try wiping your cache (again), then unplugging the xbox for a couple of minutes. That seems to have done the trick for me
Thing is I do and have wiped the cache and it’s always the same. Xbox is fully turned off at the wall, left for a minute and turned back on before starting any flight. These things are not making a difference for me unfortunately
Absolutely horrendous performance for me tonight too. Inibuilds A321 from Nice to Pyreegue Birmingham. Even taxiing at Nice I was getting freezes on the ground whilst the lights in the distance disappeared and then reloaded, this happened several times. Approach into Birmingham was really bad. Lights on the ground kept disappearing and then reloading, each time causing a freeze. Completely unplayable at the moment.
No, it’s not just you, I’ve been having the same issues you have been having throughout this beta, my approaches have all mostly been just like your video. Some days it’s just one or two freezes, but other days it can be on the whole approach.
Inverness to Edinburgh - pretty much flawless other than the loading and reloading of lights (night flight) when going through different camera views - the slow LOD ripple effect. External lights on A320n fixed. ATC still cutting over FO and vice versa.
Then, flight from Edinburgh to Leeds Bradford. Lots of stutters on runway roll and take off from Edinburgh (but never had a smootperformance at EDI, ever). Flight on climb, CRZ and descent flawless (other than LOD issues above). Overall, pretty much happy.
EDIT: many stutters taxing into Leeds. Also, meant to say that while the approach and landing into EDI were good, I did notice the complete absence of the Edinburgh bridges - they usually are beacons of luminescence, but no where to be found tonight.
When on ground or near ground, There are frequent 1 second pauses, every 10 - 15 seconds or so. I haven’t noticed issues during cruise.
Didn’t experience these issues in beta .13 (2-5 one seconds freezes throughout the whole flight yes, but not 15-20 like in beta .15, especially while taxing, taking off or on final)
in between pauses it is smooth, no stutters.
Will do more flights and see how it goes.

Second test flights, same setup. One second pauses started on descent around 9000ft, perfectly spaced at 13 seconds between each pause. It was pausing in these intervals all the way to gate and after the shutdown.
Didn’t really get much of a chance to try this yet as I updated, reset cache, restarted xbox and tried to load in to UK2000 London Luton in the A20N. After selecting a gate and pressing “fly now” (or whatever it says these days), I just got an infinite loading spinning circle and gave up after 5 minutes. So it’s not looking good
I did a third flight and noticed this too. I was timing them and it is 13 seconds every single time. Slight pause, all the street/city lights go out, then gradually come back on.
Big freezes on final and landing. Definite regression from the last update.
Air traffic is still weird. I would say one in every ten aircraft that show on the EFB actually renders in the game. I had a brief spell where it seem to he working nicely then it was back to empty skies. I have noticed that if ATC starts talking to another aircraft it will render in the sim.
Its a real shame we cant get any 3rd party traffic injectors on Xbox. Not having blinking lights in the distance at night is a real immersion killer for me.
Have you tried with ATC off. I’m sure that’s causing problems. I hadn’t used it for a week or so then tried a flight the other day with it on and stutters, not many but without ATC previously on I had near zero stutters and decent LOD. I haven’t tried this new build yet but I’m gonna leave ATC off again
There was something in the release notes about fixing ATC comms stutter so wonder if it will help with performance. But I know many of us have stopped using EFB and ATC because of the performance penalty it brings over time
Hmm. I’ve been using the EFB to view approach charts. On my most recent flight I filed my approach with ATC and then got the 13 second pauses. I’ll try again later without using EFB or ATC and see if that helps.
Is there an actual setting to turn ATC off, or do you just have to mute character voices and disable AI ATC assistance?
