Totally agree with you on this - we change a parameter or two, get two or three much better flights and make a correlation. Trouble is that there are a lot of other variables that change on every flightso that often that correlation turns out to be false - not a cause at all. Those correlations often become almost a superstition (we all have a preferred suite of settings that we check and set according to our own personal experiences). I’ve had a poor start to this beta with broken third party aircraft and my first flight going awry (bizarre hanging in flight, no interaction with controls possible) but am flying MROC-EDDF in the Inibuilds A340. Currently at FL390 - butter smooth taxi out take off and climb, looking good so far and will report later after landing…
Still in the air flying from Athens to Chicago in the A330-200RR. I did notice that I was getting a 1 second long freeze every 17 seconds. Pressed the menu button about to give up but then I thought I’d quickly check if ATC had still been working which it was. Asked for a step climb and initiated it to see how that handled it and realised that the freeze had gone away after I pressed the menu button. Very weird so am still going - will see how arrival goes in a few hours
Edit: and since opening the menu, my elapsed time under the clock in the cockpit is now passing at double speed

Smooth taxi out, take off and climb out. Uneventful cruise step climbing up to FL390 from initial cruise FL350.
Smooth approach into RW25L at EDDF through some exuberant turbulence, one or two slight stutters on final - but the slide show I expected did not materialise. Smooth roll out but some stutters on taxi in - admittedly on a crowded ramp even on Low… sticky mouse syndrome on stand made it a little fiddly to power down and disarm/open doors.
Reverse thrust and all systems worked properly on touch down with no lag.
Im convinced that expanding RC too much causes systems issues on complex aircraft - I’m no expert on Xbox systems but wonder if there’s some kind of memory conflict in play between RC and game?
But I didn’t expect such a low RC setting to work so well either…
All in all an excellent flight, very smooth overall, just one or two slight stutters, with stunning visuals and realistic feeling turbulence on final…. A good result to report for a change.

I am getting frequent stuttering and sometimes constant (needless) refreshing of local terrain/buildings.

Yup, too many aircraft broken in this build - it’s not good. if released in this state it would take many weeks for devs to figure out what has been broken, update their aircraft and get the releases through Marketplace. It would be a huge own goal for MS/Asobo so I’d strongly encourage them to look into these issues with third party WASM aircraft and make sure they are all functional again…
Its also very difficult to get useful test data for a beta that has so much badly broken.
Interesting. I know that on 2020 it was said that too large a rolling cache would cause problems for the amount of time it would take the Xbox to search through it. I may try a smaller than 32 that I have set
So it looks like I was just having a good day yesterday, as today the stutters are back again

Well that was a shock - after reading through the interesting and informative posts in this thread, I uninstalled all of my aircraft. Without restarting the game, the general performance is improved and my aircraft shadows have returned!?
I have gone a bit mad buying content of late and everything was installed (always assumed this would be beneficial from every angle).
Like most I’ve done all kinds of experiments to seek performance and stability improvements but never managed to find any association or reliable improvement.
Time will tell regarding installing vs streaming. To my surprise, streaming the aircraft only causes a minor delay in loading - not an issue at all.
Very interesting. We used to stick to the 16GB standard RC until Seb from Asobo explained how the RC works and how benefical a bigger RC could be. And if I’m not mistaken, he recomended expanding the RC to 32GB or even better 64GB.
Of course, we did it, but didn’t saw any real improvement.
I’m thinking along the same lines. Have over 100gb of content installed. Thinking of just having only my aircraft and liveries installed and seeing how I get on.
Never had this in.18, but ATC now offer take off clearance if you have spawned straight onto runway. Nice.
Today’s flight in the A350 from Glasgow to Heathrow. Started off excellent from a stormy Glasgow and across UK. London was popping in and out. Approach and slight stutters began but stopped on final.and never came back.
No efb use but like many have commented on here that they have used the efb with no problems. It has to be a mixture of many things causing this and that. The only thing I changed was I emptied the cache which I haven’t done for over a week.
Though the efb is not the sole problem Im still not gonna use it as I’m enjoying using my tablet next to me on a stand. It adds to the immersion and also my mouse so to not ignite the killer cursor mode

First time trying to fly today. The audio and music have gone completely corrupt. Volume at about 10% and speed of music and speech at 10%. I thought ATC was some spooky Halloween joke. Rest several times and cleared cache several times. No different. What’s happened between yesterday’s 5x good flights and today?!
Edit: reset Xbox audio - 3rd time lucky. All now back to normal.
And arrival into Edinburgh tonight. 100ft off threshold for landing. A320n. Xbox x.
