:warning: Reminder:

  • Add-ons/Mods/Community content are not official Microsoft Flight Simulator products and may cause issues with the Build. If you encounter any issues, temporarily disable ALL add-on content then try again. If the issue stops, add back the add-on content one by one until you find the add-on that is causing the issue.

After a year of failure after failure, I’m not going to rush to a verdict. But it definitely looks promising.

Just taken a 10 minute fly in the b747 around new York as work calls. Looking excellent.

Havent flown yet but spawned into Sydney airport in the B747 went to external camera and just held the right stick right and let the external camera pan doing laps around the plane. Usually this would result in atleast a stutter every 5 or so laps, this time not a stutter and there was AI traffic lurking around which usually brings stutters. Then went to drone cam and went up and could see the Sydney skyline harbour and surrounds rendering in perfectly from the airport very nice.

Looking promising need to get some wife duties out of the way first will take flight later

I have no idea what Asobo has done, but oh my…

…they surely worked their magic in .31 from what I saw so far.

Decided to load into KLAX with the ini A350 for a flight to KJFK, all somewhat notorious on Xbox for being heavy hitters on performance. First of all:

Xbox Series X

Characters med
Airport services off
Parked aircraft low
Air traffic med
Fauna low

Multiplayer on
Traffic on
Live weather on
PG on
Rolling cache 128GB

Almost no stutters, only a few tanking frames on ground. Traffic behaved properly. No more seconds-lomg stutters during MCDU setup. No more seconds-long stutter during takeoff and climbout. Scenery still tends to load aggressively, but it doesn’t drag the framerated down with it anymore. I literally shouted out to my fiancée how smoothly it ran during taxi, lineup and takeoff.

Congratulations Asobo, what a homerun. The Sim is finally performing how it should have a year ago! If this performance is kept in the stable version, it will make a lot of Xbox (and PS5?) simmers happy.

I’ll report back on the landing performance as soon as I’ve arrived in KJFK.

Are these Inibuilds KLAX and KJFK?

These are the standard handcrafted versions that shipped with the Sim, but they’ve given me lots of grief too. I’ll test a proper 3rd party airport a bit later or tomorrow.

Try just staying in the cockpit. Load her up and fly her out. Think maybe that’s causing the stutters. I keep to the cockpit, plan my flight etc then ask for taxi and pushback. One outside look for taxiing then back to the cockpit until landing at your destination.

Similar experience for me as others have noted. Very smooth departure out of LVFR Madrid in the A359. Will report back after landing. Fingers crossed.

I’m very impressed with this build so far, the developers seem to have finally nailed it! I did a flight from Inibuilds Gatwick to Barcelona, also third party. I turned on live traffic, multiplayer, filed a flight plan and used the ATC. Performance was flawless from start to finish, not one single stutter. Maybe the odd frame rate drop at Gatwick, but that’s to be expected as it’s quite a big add on. Approach and landing was the smoothest I have seen since 24 released. To say I am over the moon is an understatement, as I can now start to enjoy 24 and get some flights in without getting frustrated. Great job on this build. Would vote great for performance now.

Just landed at default Rome LIRF in the Inibuilds A350 and it is genuinely, without exaggeration, the first time I’ve managed a smooth, stutter free landing in this aircraft. It seems MS has finally nailed the Xbox performance issues and that is a wonderful feeling. PLEASE don’t do anything to break it now! If the public release was tomorrow as this was the performance we could expect then I’m finally happy. Have voted great.

Video of my landing (disclaimer: I know I nearly floated to France and should’ve gone around but I’m very out of practise with this plane :joy:)

Not been able to do much yet. Loaded into KSFO by Glideslope Pro in the A350-900. It seemed ok but then I went drone camera which was stuttery. So I then went back into the cockpit and had black screens. Tried restarting flight and got a CTD. But I blame that addon as it is insanely detailed

Then after restarting Xbox I loaded same aircraft into inibuilds Heathrow and it’s actually very usable. No time for a flight but setup and taxi were fine. Not silky but it is Heathrow after all. Looking forward to some flying on this but I believe we have a winner and an airport that needs disabled. Anyone got the FlightBeam version of KSFO?

All I can say is WOW!

What an improvement. The best I’ve ever seen the sim!

So smooth with only a few stutters on the ground at airport but I am using 3rd party

I just done a flight in the ini builds a321 which was always the worst in performance to me. EGCC with Maco Simulations Airport from 2020 to LFPG.

I have never been able to fly into LFPG as it’s always been a stutter fest. No issues whatsoever tonight. Incredible. Even though the Macca simulations EGCC isn’t supported for msfs2024 I’m surprised how well it runs on Xbox, but not as good as LFPG. I’m blown away that the size of LFPG out performed EGCC.

All settings on medium apart from fauna (low)

Live weather - On

Live Traffic - Off

ATC - Off

Going to try this again tomorrow with ATC and live traffic.

Great job guys!

Well, it’s definitely running better than a few weeks ago. Barely any stutter, going smoothly like never before. Congratulations.

Port Moresby to Perth B747

I threw everything at it, spamming camera change, panning, zooming, drone twists. Smooth as silk all the way and the LOD and draw distance is bang on

This is what we came for

Can’t believe what I’m typing, but the landing was buttery smooth, without stutters and without runway texture deformations. I’m simply and without exaggeration in awe.

This is it Asobo and Microsoft, this is the one. This is the Sim Update 4 I want as an Xbox user. Bravo!

After trashing you guys yesterday for the last build. I feel like I went through a wormhole or something. I’m honestly weirded out right now. What the heck did you guys do. It’s working like it should. Amazing and in awe. Please don’t break it again! Also, are these performance improvements going to be in the PS5 version also? I think it was running well already but if it gets better I am going to be in heaven. Nice job guys wish we had this build a year ago.
