After landing at the destination of the first leg in the Aloha Hawaii bushtrip, the C152 turns off and is impossible to start again, due to a somhow empty battery. It is impossible to directly continue the bushtrip with the “next” option in the completion screen.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
the one time I landed at the destination of the first leg
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
fly first leg of Aloha Hawaii bushtrip
land at destination, engine goes off and impossible to start again due to empty battery.
Not possible to continue bushtrip with “next” option in completion screen.
Workaround: After pressing “next” in completion screen, go into menu and press “restart”, then the plane spawns running and with full battery again on the runway.

My 152 turned off in the middle of flight, about 10 km before landing. No way to start it again in flight so I crashed. When I resumed from last checkpoint the engine was on and I could land and complete the leg. The second leg started normally.
UPDATE: The problem continues in the second leg. The 152 turns off in the middle of flight. At this moment this bush trip is not playable with the 152.
Completed the first leg and continued into leg 2 without issue. Engine shut down about 25 minutes into leg 2. Still showing half a tank of fuel. Did notice towards the end of leg 1 that the plane was pulling to the right more than usual. Still had battery power as I could turn the engine over but it wouldn’t catch. Will try and replicate this, checking fuel levels in the EFB.
My current theory is that the fuel is only being pulled from the left tank (will be easy to test looking at the efb). This happens in other aircraft in the game as well, only pulling from 1 tank when there is no option to switch tanks. I’ve posted before about the Zlin Savage cub doing the same.
I experienced the same thing with multiple attempts of leg 1 - but the bizarre part is when I eventually quit the sim (rather than using the Restart function for the leg) and started it again the next day, leg 1 resumed exactly where the engine had failed previously (iirc between waypoints 4 and 5). At that point I was able to complete the long rest of leg 1, and then in separate sessions complete legs 2 and 3 without issue.
I’ll just add-in this from my post in the general discussion of the bush trips:
I’m seeing the engine quit a little way past POI4.
Just a list of conditions at failure:
Fuel is all good, as is the ALT/Bat switches, but the magnetos should keep the engine running even if Alt/Battery fails. Dual mag failure IRL is extremely unlikely, but in the sim there might be a reason they’re shutting down.
Tried carb heat to make sure that wasn’t frozen but no joy. Zero amps showing both at start of flight and where the engine quit (don’t remember if that ever worked right). Vacuum gauge is zero at engine failure, but was in the green at start, but shouldn’t cause the engine to fail.

P.S. I ran the stock 152 in free flight for quite a bit longer than it took for the bush trip issue to show up, and had no issues with the plane losing power. So seems limited to the Bush Trips.
The behavior seems like the same but minus the engine damage prompt - and being in an activity there’s no means to enable dev mode to see what’s going on “under the hood.”
This - I think - is normal. If I recall correctly, this happens in 2020 bushtrips too. If you end the flight between waypoints, the game saves the flight data in the \LocalState\MISSIONS\Custom\CustomFlight\CustomFlight.FLT file.
This may well be related to the thread you mentioned. Specifically the engine damage issue.
I tested it by going into the bush trip and then “going out of bounds”! I flew at ~1400MSL @2500RPM headed straight out to sea so as to not overstress the engine. The plane flew fine for over an hour (and is still flying outbound).
During that time, it burned fuel from both tanks as verified by gauges and EFB, and the engine never failed.
Since the actual bush trip involves a significant amount of fairly steep climbs to meet the objective altitudes for each waypoint, it would follow that the aggressive engine damage factor may well be an issue.

This will require a separate bug report but came here to say I had the aircraft shutting down bug at the very end (like, literally runway in sight but too far to glide to) of Leg 4 (or maybe 5?). Upon restarting at the last waypoint I was able to complete the flight, however the end of the leg didn’t trigger when the aircraft was stopped (or even shut down).
When I have the time I will attempt to repeat the entire leg, not just resuming from the last waypoint, and see if A) I can complete it without the aircraft dying, B) when I do complete it, does it register with the sim.
Suffering the same issue. Mid flight the engine just shuts off with no warning. I managed to get it restarted once, but then 10 minutes later died and didn’t restart a second time.
