Hi - is it possible to configure the Cessna 172 with analog instruments instead of the glass cockpit? The only option I see is for glass, so I’ve been using the 152, as that layout is similar to the trainer in my flight lessons. But the power settings are slightly different
Please feel free to tag your post with either msfs-2020 or msfs-2024 if you would like to discuss a specific sim.
In the past, the steam gauge (analog) C172 (called “Basic” in FS2024) was not included in the base sim. I don’t recall if it was in the Premium or Premium Deluxe version, but it was a higher-tier aircraft. I don’t recall if that’s the case today or not, but I believe it is.
IRL - The Cessna 172 Skyhawk (Steam Gauge) has historically been the most popular aircraft for flight training.
It’s a high-wing, single-engine plane that’s known for being reliable, stable, and easy to handle,
I find it an “Interesting” choice, that MS decided to restrict that aircraft to the more expensive Premium / Deluxe version, rather than include it in the base sim for EVERYONE to experience.
