172 Livery Issues

I use the classic 172, and most liveries I download (either from the MSFS Market or online), my heading stops working. It’s the strangest thing, am I doing something wrong?

I install the livery, then get in the classic 172, choose the livery, and then I get up in the air, set a heading, turn on autopilot, hit the heading button, and nothing. I just keep going the same direction.

What does that even have to do with liveries anyway?

Much thanks,

I’m not an expert here, but I have read enough reports where developers have stated that if a livery (or other mod for that matter) includes its own panel.cfg file or updates it, it may overwrite items that break plane functionality.

This happened a lot to me on the CJ4 and DA-40NGX mods. Livery conflicts, light mod conflicts, etc.

Do you have any C172 Mods installed ??

I installed 172 liveries from the Marketplace on Xbox and found oddities similar to this; for me, it was COM1 and COM2 were coupled (as well as NAV1 and NAV2). That is to say, I couldn’t adjust NAV2 to get a bearing on that HSI without also swapping NAV1. Haven’t flown it since.

edit: Premium Deluxe steam-gauge version, obviously

Yes, as noted, this happens when there’s a rogue panel.cfg or panel.xml file in the panel directory.
Contact the developer and have them fix it.
