erm the switch is down and to the right I think, or CTRL + W to toggle by default
The Xcub amphibian from BLL is really good…no water rudder though. The Bird Dog has floats as well and is a nice plane.
There’s a difference between “sluggish in the water” and “essentially unsteerable” though.
Can it be that hard to programme this? I keep thinking that priorities are getting mixed. Like I have said, the Icon spins around at idle and this is a good programmers work around.
Yes, in the docks it’s hard to turn. Not sure if the water rudders are working as they should - visually they work, but maybe they aren’t working to actually turn the plane.
They have no effect at all.
If you deploy water rudders at the wrong time in FSX/FS9 it will flip the aircraft over.
This should be an easy hotfix for them… definitely a pain in the rear.
Can we get a small list of where these water runways are?
Unfortunately don’t have a list, but I believe I’ve seen the number quoted as around 700. I believe they’re almost all in the US or Canada.
If you go to the world map and use the filters to pick “Airports” and then just “Water runways” (eliminating all other surfaces) that should show you where they all are. Might also have a better time with LittleNavMap but I don’t use it so I couldn’t say.
What we need now is realistic water physics! ![]()
They can definitely be much better… I am sure they will continue to improve over time.
Yeah there are no water physics at all, it’s not just the water handling that is non-existant but landing and takeoffs aren’t realistic either. It’s like landing on a trampoline made of concrete, no matter how smooth the landing is. Takeoffs porpoise constantly so you have to force it off the water before it goes too crazy.
Absolutely agree with you. Water physics are non-existent. I think I heard Asobo talk about water physics in one of the dev q&a’s but they didn’t give any timeframe. I might be wrong, so don’t quote me on this.
