The ATR is not available in msfs-2024 Marketplace but if you bought it in msfs-2020 Marketplace you may have it enabled in msfs-2024 ?

But the tag explicitly says it’s for the 2024 version only. 2024 liveries do not work with 2020 models.

Ok, so yes, seems something wrong with that package proposal or incorrectly tagged 2024.

I have the 2020 ATR in 2024 as a result of owning the Aviator Edition (allegedly those that purchased the ATR in 2020 a la carte are not able to transfer it to 2024) and I may bite the $5 bullet and test it out and see if it works on the 2020 model.

My guess is that it almost certainly will, because the opposite would mean that it’s designed for the 2024-native version, which I personally doubt has even been started yet.

And if that’s the case, it’s probably going to be pulled from the store as no other 2020 liveries are in the 2024 Marketplace as far as I have seen.

Prior doing that you may want to contact the developers and make them the question.

I looked - despite their products saying “email us!” there is no contact information for them anywhere. Honestly it should be a requirement for all MP devs to provide a way for users to reach them.

Yes, I think there is a topic around that. What’s the developer’s name ?

2Pilot - and yeah, the only thing I could find about their email was a forum thread about how it doesn’t exist.

I can confirm the 2020 version doesn’t transfer over to 2024 a la carte purchase. Just tested and now I’m out $12 unless I want to fly in 2020.

Is this about their livery pack in the 2024 Marketplace? It doesn’t work in 2024? As that’s what this thread is about.

Sorry no this was about the plane itself as I thought a comment above was referring to the plane itself not just the livery.

The plane is also fully usable in 2024 if you purchase it in 2020 - it just shows as “Not Creator Approved”/“Unverified” but you can still enable it.

It’s the same as every aircraft exclusive to the Aviator Edition.

It seems that in addition to the “2024 ATR” liveries being in the Marketplace even though there is no 2024 ATR, there is also a “2024 ATR” cockpit enhancement addon. It’s concerning that these products are making their way through the ingestion and approvals processes as they are misleading at best and totally broken at worst.

Doesn’t the 2024 tag only mean that the liveries have been compiled using the 2024 SDK? Not that they’re made for a (as yet) non-existent 2024 ATR?

I had a livery pack for the ATR in 2020, but while the plane itself transferred over to 2024, the livery pack did not. I think it was marked “unavailable”. Then, a new version of the livery pack became available, free of charge, which I downloaded, and it works. I can see if that is the same pack you are referring to, in this thread.

EDIT: The pack I have seems to be the one you are referring to. I see now that the 2020 pack is listed as “unverified” now, but I’m 95% certain that it was “unavailable” before, which is why I downloaded the 2024 version.

The liveries are only compatible with the base variants of the 42/72 (and not all liveries are available on both), so no high line or 42-S or 72-F. Note that the base variants have no tag in the aircraft selection screen, this is with the 2024 livery pack enabled. The other variants are tagged as 2020. (Honestly, the sorting of variants and liveries is a bit of a mess in FS2024, but that’s a different topic)

Your mileage may vary and all of that, but works as expected for me.

I haven’t bought the cockpit variants, so can’t comment on that.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding but is it possible to compile a livery for a 2020 model in the 2024 SDK? A 2024 SDK version of the ATR doesn’t exist yet as far as I’m aware.

I don’t have any knowledge of this, I can only report what I observe. And, for me, this 2024 livery pack works on the 2020 ATR.

Edit: and, for clarity, the following is the pack I’m referring to.

I think the fact that they work for the 2020 ATR is exactly why they need the 2024 tag removed. When the 2020 ATR is updated to the 2024 version, these will no longer work. Then we’ll be left with “2024” liveries that don’t work on an actual 2024 aircraft, and that’s no good.

I don’t know what the solution would be, because there already is a 2020 version of this pack, labelled 2020. If someone is buying this 2024 pack in FS2024, then I don’t think they get the 2020 version in FS2020 (I might be wrong about this), so labelling it ”2020” would then be misleading. I haven’t tried if the 2020 version works in FS2024, if the 2024 version is even necessary. Just talking about this makes my head spin.

Are there no other examples of a 2024 livery for a 2020 aircraft?

None that I’ve found as the models of the aircraft are incompatible. 2020 liveries don’t work on 2024 aircraft, 2024 liveries don’t work on 2020 aircraft.
