Career mode cargo mission sent me to a closed airfield? (don’t think it is closed IRL, but see the cross markers on the runway, it would not allow me to select any runway or do the auto announce on final to end this mission. I landed anyway and took the hit on my reputation.)

  1. Is it a bug that they send you to a closed airfield?
  2. Could I have diverted to the closest other airfield and passed the mission without a reputation hit?

Yep, happens quite a bit too

Nope, landing anywhere else is an automatic mission failure

This career mode is just a big joke…!!!
The procedures are totally unrealistic, the voices are horrible and in many cases, we find ourselves penalized because of the ATC.
Maybe one day it will work, in 2026 or 2027…

It must be fun for some but if one looks for realism, then it is NOT there.
That is why I wish , they would get different realism levels in career mode but I doubt it will ever happen.

I think they should simply give you an objective, perhaps with a time limit or some other constraints, and then allow you to plan the flight yourself. This would be much more realistic and fun.

Career Mode Crashes when spawning…I wish I had kept track of them all but here’s a couple…WA20 & PAML for sure. I just lost a mission at PAML and the WA20 was when I began Career mode(plus it repeated).

Tried 10 missions today. They screwed something up. My es-30 is unplayable, half the time it says I crashed on starting the mission, the other half the plane flies backwards and tips upon releasing the parking brake, another crash. 5 missions failed with that plane today, all crashes and now I owe millions to repair it.

My Cessna grand caravan is having issues now as well! 2 times when skipping to descent the plane is going 300 knots and fails the mission with a crash. 3 other times today or spawns me in a bunch of trees and crashes, damaging the plane.
There needs to be an option to reload to a previous point in the flight on crash. Doing a 3 hour flight and having a “crash” into some invisible wall during taxi to parking makes me want to throw my $10,000 PC along with the $300 collectors edition out the window.

Whoa, those are the first ones I’ve seen to HCR. I made that suggestion several times in the last few weeks. Are they listening?

Despite many known problems I’m still enjoying career mode unlocking areas along the way and finally made it to Australia and NZ from Japan. Medium cargo has such large payouts once I purchased a PC-12 I’ve been using that exclusively to build up 8mil cr. but would really like to do other missions or at least try a different medium cargo plane based in Europe.

I considered the PC-24 but looking at medium cargo missions available in Europe there are too many short runways and fear I will just crash it. Cessna 408 could be interesting but slower and I’m assuming won’t pay more than PC-12 missions despite its higher cost.

I would love to fly some missions in CJ4 or Saab 304 but based on what I’ve read in this thread freelance missions for those are hard to come by. What’s the next logical step after PC-12? It will be a while before I get enough for a 737…

One ambulance mission wanted me to cruise at 46k feet. How is that possible?
Also, I don’t see any vip charter missions and firefigh missions.

These missions seem to be generated for specific aircraft (the PC-24 for example could reach 45.000ft, maybe another can reach that 46.000?), even if you can use another in freelance. So as the sim doesn’t know which aircraft you will choose, it can’t know if the preset values are possible. But you can change your cruising altitude anytime before starting the mission, to adapt it to your chosen aircraft.

Beware with the VIP flight from KIDA


ALT-N doesn’t help either.

The mission locations for the aircraft used need to seriously be looked at. Was given a cargo mission with a Pilatus PC-24 to deliver to EGEL. The max safe landing distance for a PC-24 is 2410 feet (734 meters). The runway length at EGEL is 1640 ft (500 meters). Of course, it doesn’t help when an asset loads in to block the runway and cause a crash, forcing the aircraft to reset midair at a high speed with flaps fully extended, and too high to safely even attempt a landing. Absolutely ridiculous.

The mission locations/spawns are strange, slowly made my way down to Australia only to find there is next to no missions. Now got my vision jet stuck there with nothing to do :joy:. Thought staggering aircraft around the world would be a good idea but apparently not!

I am in the same boat as you mate, and just saw a post above yours above the Cessna Citation CJ4 VIP Charter, i think i will try that out but it is also my understanding that it is rare to find those kind of missions!

The annoying thing with the VIP charter is they disappear after 1 attempt and never come back. I had a crash 4 hrs into 1 of the US ones and its gone. There’s the one I posted above where you start on a hangar roof which was a nice waste of 85k that has also disappeared. Yet all the other VIP missions seem to reset every day.

In Airliner career, my Saab 340 starts up on its own and taxis to the hold point without any input from me, and three times in a row, all at different airports, it tells me it has had a crash, and I have to replace a tire or even a landing gear once I get back to the lounge. Is this happening to anyone else? I just got the Saab, and had one pretty buggy flight a couple of days ago now can’t even get it to the runway.
