2024 Career Mode

The tear rate of the de Havilland is nuts! 11%, thats a maintenance cost right there! Impressive passive pay

Why cant I fly my Airbus a32x on career missions only the max

because IniBuilds aircraft have “non-standard” features including a custom EFB which bypasses the poorly-implemented Career Mode aircraft setup, a working weight and balance system, working refueling that isn’t integrated into the Career expenses grind, no support for the time-wasting walkaround busywork engine and pitot cover minigame, Simbrief integration, no support for accumulating dirt and grime, etc etc.

I hope they will included more planes and 3rd party planes soon.
I am still on 2020 but i am actively reading the forum.
I will buy msfs 2024 when career mode will be more stable with more planes available.

Man, I so agree with you. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed but since Beta 2, it has affected the punishments ++++ and ATC in free flight is totally, totally broken and a real pain in the …

Yestrday I got three speeding and height restriction dings one while taking off and was at about 300ft, coming in to land at about 80kts at long final and then a height restriction ding while taking off while at only 400ft.

Please will someone fix this nonsense punishment ding thing. If you are going to do it make sure every take off and landing point has a set of rules we need to abide by so we are aware of what the hell they all are. It is just so random and uncoordinated - Grrrrrrrrr

Is there even any one in Asobo who is looking at these issues while Beta 2 is going on.???

Have you opened bug reports for your issues? Would make it much easier for them to be aware of those issues instead of following a 3k posts thread.

Yes, I did yesterday. under sightseeing mission, something or another. I am wondering if their focus is so much on Beta 2, everything else is passe!

When I skip to descent in flights longer than 3h the plane crashes immediately. Sometimes airspeed is too low or too high.
Hope this will get a fix soon.

I mainly fly helicopters and agricultural + fire fighting planes. But there are so many bugs. The mission for getting the extended attack certificate is bugged. The aircraft has too much fuel and you need to refill the water tanks to 100% to trigger the next mission step, but with that weight it is nearly impossible to get airborne again ( you can do it with a lot of luck, if you try often enough). The platform for the chemical supply truck during heli agrar missions frequently spawns among trees, making it impossible to land on it. Search and rescue spots frequently are positioned completely inaccessible to land there (helicopter and planes). There is no display on the AT-802 for crop dusting, even if it is so simple to implement - there is a fantastic addon on flightsim-to, but neither will they enable mods in carreer mode (for whatever reason) nor are they willing to implement this essential tool themselves (there is basically no crop duster without that display). If you land on the platform for chemical refill, during the refill animation the heli might crash, because the animation triggers too early (easy fix: just let me tell the ground crew, that I am ready for refill). The execution time bonus for agricultural missions is a joke. You can not finish agrar missions with the R66, because at the end it requires you to set the parking brake (which it obviously doesn’t have). There are dozens more of these faults. PLS LET US USE MODS, if you don’t want or can not fix this. The whole Sim is only successful BECAUSE of the mods and 3rd party software, not despite of it.
p.s. why I can not use the Cessna 188 AG Truck for missions is also beyond me.
I still like the career mode, but sometimes it really is annoying and NOTHING of that seems to be fixed in SU2 ( and for the planes: most of the missions are waaaaaayyyyy too long).

as i’ve said before, they won’t let us use mods (or anything else which changes the core experience) in Career because, even though there is no global leaderboard, they still seem to think it needs a “level playing field” which apparently requires standardized default aircraft which have:

  • no custom EFB or customization menus in their MFD
  • all fueling, weight and balance, and flight planning ONLY via the built-in EFB
  • chocks, engine and pitot covers, and copilot models
  • support for Career’s gamified model of “percentage wear and tear” on aircraft systems rather than realistic system failures
  • support for dirt and grime accumulation over time.

this is why you cannot fly, for instance, the IniBuilds Airbuses in Career, and never will be able to unless Asobo changes their “vision” for Career, or IniBuilds makes substantial changes (dumbing down their planes in the process) to accomodate them. i don’t see this happening.

i’m frankly amazed Asobo/Microsoft allow the SimBrief and Navigraph plugins in the EFB. can you imagine how horrible Career Mode would be without them?

If you think the runways you get in career mode are mad, enjoy this … :small_airplane:

This time It spawned me in a Cessna 408 in a nc airport which was a private airport on a mountain top and could not taxi because the parking was wings inside a building and huge downhill drop off on each side of the parking and crashed every time I tried to taxi the 408 and I did everything possible to turn including the more power to one engine trick and still fell down a mountain

Appreciate the reply

I have reset my career many times and found that the best bet for making money at the start is to skip the first offered company Flight Seeing, and go with a Cargo Transport Company to start with, as Flight Seeing might pay $20,000, and a CTC pays about $120,000 on average. Once I finally saved up enough, I started a Aerial Firefighting Company and got my first plane for 1.2 million. After seeing everyone posting about VIP Charter Service, being the big money earner, I started one and bought a Vision Jet for it. Thinking of expanding my Cargo Transport to Medium, I also purchased a Cessna Grand Caravan before I called it a night last night.

Cue today, where I grabbed my beverage, fired up Career Mode … and there is not a single mission in the world for any of my 3 companies! Tons of Employee Missions, but not a single Freelancer job in the entire world. I was curious if anyone else has had this happen? I have tried quitting to desktop, and restarting, but always the same result.

Yes, I experienced the same issue 2 days ago when there were no very long cargo missions or short vip’s. Tons and tons of very long vip and flightseeing???
I dont know what is going on.

Their only focus appears to be on Beta2

Does that surprise you? They should be looking at Beta2 closely.

It does not surprise me but product development should never lose sight of the bigger picture which is gaining market share. Principal rule of marketing - never lose sight of your customers needs - or else they go somewhere else with their cash!

Just because they are testing in Beta2 with the relatively few of you who understand computing does not mean you should neglect the larger customer base!

Don’t get me wrong, we all appreciate the efforts of those of you who do understand the intricacies of being able to test Beta 2 - but Asobo/MS should not forget those of us who have equally spent our hard earned cash!

What I would say for those who may not be most computer or sim literate is they may not be the best choice for enrolling in the Beta process. The beta’s shouldn’t be considered a form of early access to new code. Enrolling in it should come with a certain expectation of what may happen, and stability should not be expected.

Any issues identified in the current release version should be reported, but don’t expect any fixes to those to make it into the current beta as it’s focus has already been fixed. Depending on how serious the issue is, it might make it into the beta after that, at a guess.

I agree not to join Beta - and I have not. My reporting is purely for those of us left in SU1. This forum is just for Career mode - it is not just for Beta 2, hence why I am on this section.

Okay, Career Mode, Apr. 1st, 2025, I get the junk Cessna 172, finally able to create a cargo company. I take a mission around 120k with 138 NM nautical miles distance. After 5 hours straight flight right before the arrival airport the plane starts to act like weird. travelling 7000 feet high against 30 knot wind and the fuel tank is around 15 % full. Trying to fly across a 5000 feet high Hill. barely can do it because the Earth like a super magnet pulls the plane downwards but somehow I manage to reach the airport, turning off the autopilot and fly around the hill on the smaller side. The landing is a sh1tsh0w, turbulence is out of control, than crash on the field into the trees no way to manage a nice landing as it would be any other time. What is that? Bug? Do I have to know something about the plane, that I supposed to check or do something? MS 2020 never had an experience like that. My rep, my money is gone like in 15 seconds. Playing since the first day (which was about a 2 weeks later after release day lol) but still unable to do any normal mission, finally I grinded some money and now I’m just wasted half a year on this game. I am a slow player, don’t have that much time but I am thinking to stay away this pile of &#@ and do something more useful.
