So, I’m here downloading the game again and I’m getting for download speed what’s in the subject of this posting…
When I first downloaded this game, it seems like it went along a lot faster but not today.

Well as it often said, there are many variables with your download speeds. For example, I can run the Ookla Speedtest multiple times in a few minutes and get quite different results (though not always, usually they are fairly close).
So depends on the time of day, where you live, is it WiFi or what sort of connection you have, or even the MS site may be suddenly inundated with requests for downloads.
So if you don’t have the time, cancel the download and perhaps run it overnight - often the best way to get the fastest speeds than you can get.
Good luck!
I hear you. I normally don’t have any problems like that, I’m on Comcast cable here and I’ve seen some seriously fast download speeds with this thing.
I tend to think it’s because there’s a lot of people that use the game and I don’t believe for a second that they have any sort of dedicated server for downloads truth is they probably piggy back the downloads on another server for something else.
Aussie here, so know nothing about Comcast. I guess it’s possible MS use the same servers, have no idea.
Upon further inspection of what’s going on with the Internet here, it appears that the problem is not with Microsoft.
The entire Internet is slow. I’ve been browsing various sites around and because of what’s happening or was happening in Washington DC…the Internet is slow.
I live here in central Mississippi and I too, experienced a bad slow down yesterday afternoon. I didn’t think anything of it until now. I wonder if my slow down is related, or if there was some other problem. I was on mobile network yesterday afternoon when I experienced my slowdown while watching YouTube videos? At home, on my wired and wireless connection I very rarely, if ever, experience any slowdown. My IP provider is MaxxSouth broadband. Its not a major IP, but it is the best for the money in my area. I just ran a speed test on my IP and here are the results:
PING ms: 9
DOWNLOAD Mbps: 955.83
UPLOAD Mbps: 15.89
This test was conducted using MaxxSouth’s servers in Pontotoc, Mississippi. I’m paying for a 1024Mbps Download speed, with a 15 Mbps Upload speed. I like it!
downloading the title with max download speed here in Winland
downloading the title with max download speed here in Winland
my DLS gives 40mbps (max speed) which i use mainly cuz solid connection and 5G around 100-300mbps
I don’t like you.
Well, I am very happy to report that I resolved my speed issue.
It appears that there is an article in the Zendesk help on here, that tells you how to make your computer download faster.
I also got online with Comcast customer support and told them about this and they did some finangling from remote and now I’m happy to report that I’m getting around 30 Mps/s downloads.
It could be faster, it could be 500 M BPS. But, I’ll take what I can get.
They’re also sending me a new modem which I don’t think I need, but seeing that it is free, I’ll take it and take the one back.
That sounds promising
Just for the record (and for anyone reading this in the future): download speeds may also be throttled “server-side”: in case the server has to server many clients (connections) it might decide to throttle the download speed - and even putting several clients into a waiting queue - in order to serve everyone fairly (and in order not to starve its own resources).
So if that’s the case (typically just after a new release / feature such as the VR support has been released), simply try later - or make a cup of hot tea in the meantime
