Is this a song about Bijan, or would that be excessive ?

Incredible work on the winter trees - what an improvement over the “burnt” models you were previously forced to use.

I appreciate this question will be hard to answer, but what are your thoughts on how this mod will play with the improvements they were talking about for trees and performance? Iirc they touted a 3-4x speed up on tree performance coming in future with some of their optimisation work, allowing them to both increase density and improve performance simultaneously…. is it likely that this will automatically directly benefit your mod too?

I remember the earlier days of the initial release and how people on this forum lambasted Bijan for not making the mod available for free. Well I’m sure some, if not most of them have purchased your mod and most likely have a very different opinion. I believe your product is payware quality and in comparison to so many other modded tree packages for other simulators, this one is by far in my opinion the best.

Your value added service, continued development and response to the community is what makes this mod truly wonderful. 10/10 mate  keep up the good work!

Bijan - I wasn’t trying to intentionally misquote you…only to shorten the quote length. As has been repeated here often…THANKS for the outstanding work!!

@bijanstudio,

Just FYI,

I’ve just flown out of Glasgow for the first time since installing the mod and something isn’t quite right with the whole area.

There is an absolute abundance of the yellow ‘flowers’ everywhere which are very very prominent around the airport itself, extending right into the City. They also run up the side of Loch Lomond and Gare Loch. None of that is correct.

In reality, at the lower levels the whole area is covered in trees (mostly Pine) and these yellow ‘flowers’ are not really typical in this part of the world at all. I’d go as far as saying that’s the case for the whole West Coast of, perhaps even the whole of, Scotland. You might get small areas of it, a bit like moor heather elsewhere, but these are very sparse and windswept hills, Pine trees aside. If you look on Google maps there’s no evidence of large swathes of yellow flowers/scrub/heather at all.

The areas where this yellow doesn’t exist are absolutely spot on IMHO.

Cheers.

I remember too, the reason for Bijan to sell his work, which was free before, was that someone stole it and tried to sell it with other naming. He did right !

Hello

The placement of the rapeseed flowers in UK are automatic and randomly, unlike the tulip or lavender cultivated flower farms, which I have total control of the placement. Rapeseed covers about 500 Sq. miles in UK and Scotland in the sim.
So there might be few areas like you mentioned that might look too many.
I can edit the area you mentioned and change it to the native trees.

Cheers
Bijan

Thank you. It’s definitely a huge upgrade from the old bare tree. But there is a limitation to use the new winter trees as I can not populate a whole region like the default trees. It would also reduce performance if these trees were to be used everywhere as these are real 3d models. So to keep performance high, I would have to limit using these trees in cities, by airport or POI places. Or in desert with few sparse broken and dead trees.
Tree density is something I have total control of. Someone mentioned it before too.
Of course it would benefit me if they can increase performance.

I didn’t realise they were rapeseed flowers, my bad. In that case you definitely wouldn’t see them in Scotland virtually anywhere.

Rapeseed doesn’t really occur randomly in the UK. It is certainly farmed extensively in many areas of England, but it would almost always occur in defined fields, which forms the patchwork you can see in the height of summer.

Much of the Bing map data already shows fields of Rapeseed in game.

It might be cultivated but there are many rape seeds fields in Scotland.
So it’s either what you see now or I take all the rape seeds out which is the whole country.

Like I mentioned I can edit your local area and take some out if that works.

Hey, Bijan! Here is a question. Any idea if a mesh product will mess with yours? Orbx just released a higher resolution New Zealand. Any idea how that would affect things? I bought it, but haven’t flown in NZ yet.

Good question. I saw the product yesterday. It shouldn’t cause any issues but if there is, I can adjust the level of priorities in the scene so my trees would override the default.

I just flew there with the OrbX mesh and Bijans mod. Saw no problems. Only beautiful autumn trees. I did not expect to find any issues considering the world updates went without problems as well. Maybe it’s a different story with hand placed objects. The usual trees and plants are fine.

Can you remove it from Scotland but leave it in England, or is that impossible?

It only really grows in the lowland border area (as those images you posted confirm), except on a few farms in the North East. It generally isn’t something you would see as far North as Glasgow, and you definitely wouldn’t see it occurring past Glasgow towards the Highlands.

I know I’m just one person but for me you could remove it altogether. There are rape fields depicted in game anyway from Bing maps, to have it growing elsewhere isn’t really correct.

It’s a bit like having palm trees in London :joy:

If he does, I bet, another one wil come and tell he ius from Scotland and surrounded by rape…

Just to illustrate the point, what the area looks like in real life, and how it looks in the sim. The first sim image is immediately after getting airborne from 05 at Glasgow, then the other two are of Loch Lomond and Gare Loch and it stays like this as far North as Glenfinnan viaduct, maybe even further. Bet ya don’t remember seeing rapeseed oil in the Harry Potter movies! :innocent:

My wife’s from the area so I am pretty familiar with it. To all intents and purposes, rapeseed is almost non-existent in Scotland. On reflection, it’s probably less common than palm trees in London!

This is how the mod looks further North, which in my opinion as entirely correct, and how the very vast majority of Scotland looks.

Hope that all makes sense.

I flew around on the Shetlands today and noticed there were numerous trees on some of the islands.
They were also rather large, at least normal size.
Famously, the Shetlands have none or only very very few and small trees.

Not sure if this is because of MSFS in general or has to do with the Addon.

Just wanted to share an observation.

The images I posted (3 images above) are also from Scotland.
The images you posted could either be from other areas of Scotland that don’t have the flowers or another season.
I let others who might be from the area comment on this.

The tree proportion next to the houses looks perfect in my opinion. Not large at all.
