Hi I was flying at FL360 alti set to STD, and at one moment, the ATC tells to another plane that there is traffic alert A319 (my plane) at FL365. how could that be?
ATC doesn’t always use the correct barometric pressure, and the difference you see may depend on the local barometric pressure meaning that sometimes you are higher than ATC expects and sometimes lower.
You may see this also as a Mission Step to climb to a specific altitude not completing until you are a few hundred feet over the expected altitude.
In fact I had this too in the missions. I was at the correct altitude, and the mission goal wasn’t reached, until I climbed several fett above, but then the ATC told me that I was too high. A little bug from FS2024 I suppose.
It’s pretty poor that, after so many iterations of MSFS this is still an issue. After all, above 18000 ft, everywhere in the world is on STD 1013/2992, and, many places, above lower altitudes. There shouldn’t be any reason why other aircraft are showing altitudes when we’re on a FL, but I’m not a software developer, just a pilot
It’s not just FS2024, MSFS is the same. Even traffic injected by FSLTL or Beyond ATC cruises at wrong levels.
