hello,
I would like to have your opinions because I can’t decide between the RTX5070Ti or the RTX5080, knowing that for the moment I have a R7 5800x3D, a CPU upgrade in the future is planned for summer/fall, I will possibly go for a R7 9800x3D but for the moment I stay on my 5800x3D
I play on a resolution of 1440P (with a resolution scale at 150% in the FS20 and FS24 settings). I may go one day on a 2160p screen, but it’s not a project.( or maybe yes but distant )
I don’t really have a budget limit other than not spending more than 1300€ on a GPU
one of the two GPUs replaces my 3080 Ti, the sale of which is more or less already concluded with a friend, so although it would start with a good intention, I don’t want “no, keep your 3080ti and wait 2/3 years”
Seriously any advice at this point would be untrustworthy.
Maybe better ask again once the 5070TI has been released and we know its actual potential?
So the 5070ti and the 5080 haven’t been released yet? The company selling me my new computer is offering them both and I haven’t pulled the trigger because I can’t decide. I already settled on the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D (8-Core) 5.2 GHz Turbo (3D V-Cache) (Zen 5) and 64GB DDR5 6000MT/s Kingston FURY RGB with the motherboard MSI PRO X670E GAMING PLUS (Wi-Fi) (AMD X670) (Up to 3x PCI-E Devices) (DDR5)
Should I wait more?
I’d go with the 5080 for future 4k viewing. The last thing you want to do is pay a lot of money and have the new gpu be the bottleneck. MSFS 2024 is much more demanding of the gpu and you will be instantly bottlenecked by the 5070Ti at 4k.

Thanks. What about VR goggles? Will they work better with the 5080 too?
Yes absolutely!
The more powerful the gpu the better performance you’ll get.

Wait, you live in DFW? I’m in Ben Wheeler about an hour from you to the east on I-20. I live on my airport Vaca Moo, ID : TA37. Is there any way I could see your setup? Are there any clubs or local groups or something like that where I can see the sims in real life to make a better decision on what to buy? This article is about my runway Vaca Moo Airport: A Little Facility with Texas-Sized Heart
Lol it’s a small world - I’ll DM you.
