Hello! Just got a new rig. Mostly super happy. Allthough, i only get around 35fps using VR quest 3. most settings on ultra/high, but the traffic etc is on low, and live weather off. Tlod and olod on 200.
Using TAA, as the Hyper 145 glass display is not readable at using dlss.
So, the quetion. Is this how good it will get when using TAA, or do i have any other option to maybe get around 45 fps?

I have a similar rig except a 4090 and get 40 FPS pretty much everywhere. MSFS settings are default high, VD with 80 Hz SSW and godlike VR quality.
I don’t use TAA as DLSS 4 (DLAA or Quality) looks better and does not give blurry screens at all like it used to with previous DLSS versions, so I suggest you give it a try.
eg. screenshot in VR right now of King Air 350 glass panel with DLSS Quality:
Same view, but TAA instead. Looks similar quality to me.
Super, thanks. Will test it out, might be too much ultra, tlod/olod. Did you select the dlss in nvidia app and latest?
Im also using link cable, will try VD:)
Be sure to use Virtual Desktop and set SSW to “Forced”
Also launch flight sim via the Virtual Desktop “games” tab. I don’t know why but I get better performance when I let VD launch it.
Then set FPS limit to 36 (maybe optional)
Basically if you get less than 72 FPS it will cap itself at 36 then use SSW to interpolate 72. Should be pretty fluid.
If you don’t have wifi 6 / wifi 7 then stick with the oculus link cable. VD won’t work via cable.

Thanks! VD, god like and high end, 50fps
The screens are fully readable, will play around with the setting to see if i can make it better. Had to set ssw off as it made some wierd artifacts on buildings.
But all inn all, much better and smoother:)
I used nVidia inspector due to a bad experience with the first versions of the nVidia app, but what you state is the normal way to do it.
Re SSW having artifacts, if you set Max Frame Rate in MSFS settings to the pre SSW FPS cap it gives a very smooth. low artifact experience. eg. if you are using 72 Hz SSW, set Max Frame Rate to 36. In my case I use 40 FPS max frame rate and 80 Hz SSW.
Don’t get too caught up on having the highest graphics settings possible in VR. It is really hard to tell the improvement in most settings above medium or high, with the exception of clouds which I like to run at ultra when I can. The high preset with ultra clouds can deliver the 40 FPS I need pretty much all the time with a 4090 and looks great, so with a 5090 that should be no sweat.

Super, will check this out. But, where do i set 72hz SSW or 80z. I only get frame rate as an option?
In VD. FPS or Hz is effectively the same thing.

So i think i have it dialed in. This was in New york(VR), clouds set to ultra. Other settings high/medium, other than traffic density and such wich i put in low. DLAA. When i go without VR, its ofcourse much higher, so i guess VR just demands a lot of the system. Might try undervolting or something, but in generall happy
Thanks for the help
