I flew a brand new 737 max delivered to Vancouver to Puerto Vallarta as an airline mission for 9 million. Brand new plane, zero miles on it. About 1/2 way to Puerto Vallarta I had engine malfunction. Lost 1 engine and was going to land this thing with one engine.. a bit excited about that but dreading the maintenance bill. 5 minutes later engine 2 went down.. abort. Wtf. I always fly with engine in green.. around 80 percent throttle.. wasn’t doing anything crazy.. I don’t understand if I did something wrong or if this is a new bug. I do skip to take off every time so maybe something is missed because I do that? I had flown a couple 4 hour flights since su2 with no issues.. maybe the 9 hour flight revealed this bug?
Anyone can help?
I’ve just had same. Engine 2 failure 2 hours into flight. Brand new and 3 hours from land. Can’t restart mid flight either.
Seen reports anything below 6 degree engine 2 won’t start and i can’t change temp as irs on career
Same thing just happened to me. Trying to do a 9hr flight out of O’Hare and 1/3 way through had an engine failure. Had AT set at 255 kts and throttle never got above 85%. Luckily i was able to restart mission and exit with no damage to pay on the aircraft. Worked had to finally get it and im greeted with that. Think ill take a break while asobugs figures it out.
so, I’m new to this forum, and reporting problems. Should this be filed as a new bug and if so, how is that done officially? It has halted my playing of the sim now because once you play and make millions per flight, how do you backtrack
Report it under the Bug Reporting Hub that is the drop down menu on the forum. There it will have the template of how to report it
Additionally of using the template as mentioned by @Wildcat5517 , prior creating a report please search for any existing one to avoid duplicates.
Same happened to me, flew out of lax in autothrottle and did nothing crazy to the plane, but had to pay some 25 million to repair the engine as the maiden flight. Engine 2 was completely out while 1 suffered significant wear.
Is anyone using sim rate? Ive read that this aircraft is absolutely abysmal with sim rate? I was only using x2 when it happened to me.
Terrible with auto pilot and sim rate. I use sim rate 4 and just fly it manually which works great once you got your trim in 5 percent area
I had auto pilot and auto throttle activated l, sim rate x2 and thats when it happened
A tip that might solve the issue: if in carrer mode you are turning on the engines with ctrl-e, then take a look at the overhead panel because there are some switches that need to be flicked on or off according to the procedures.
Do ypu know off hand what those switches are?
Not at the sim right now… From memory: Once you press Ctrl+E to start, wait for the engines to fully come alive and turn on both Generators. Packs to auto, Isolation valve auto, engine bleed air on, APU bleed off, APU off, yaw damper on, window heat on, close emergency exit lights cover, check if fuel and hydraulic pumps are on. And I don’t remember if I forgot anything else…
