The leading edge flap (technically slat) indicator light came on when the flap selector had not been touched. Yet the sim detected that the slats were in transition from up to the setting of 1 and it was like that for several minutes. This was in Career mode and the sim gave 2 penalties at the end of the flight for the flaps being down while the airplane was going too fast for the flaps to be extended.
Problem? The flaps were never extended. A screenshot is attached.
I can also confirm that VNAV will exceed 250kts with flaps extended as well. Got a violation for this a few days back.
Seems like coding VNAV to hold at 240kts would fix this instead of letting it get so close.
Another item that needs to change with this airplane while in a mission (Career mode) is that turbulence can easily cause the speedtape to jump from Mach 0.80, which is typical cruise speed for the MAX, and into the red barber-pole section thereby creating a penalty for over speeding the aircraft

Agreed. The margins are too close in the Autopilot coding.
The acceleration and deceleration rates in the MAX are not good. You can go from 150 KIAS to stalling the MAX in under 2 seconds. Even the reverse thrust only gives you 40% of N1. So the unrealistic missions in Career mode that have a destination runway of 6,000 ft with a field elevation higher than Denver are almost impossible to score well. You can stand on the brakes upon landing and the plane does not want to slow down. The autobrake can be set to 3 or Maximum and that does very little to slow it down. It is as if this airplane was released for console gaming because the control inputs on the MAX are also unrealistic.
Hard to believe that they released the MAX this way. Many other things do not work properly either.
Can’t wait for the payware 737 MAX.
