I’ll listen to the moderator. On topic the wing flex it is not simulated very well. Maybe not super bad, but bad. Definitely room for improvement on the 737.
The CFM56 engine on the 737NG is not authorized or capable of using reversers for pushback. Attempting to do so would likely result in severe engine damage. Bypass reversers work in a completely different way than exhaust gas reversers found on older aircraft like the MD-80 or 727.
My main criticism of it is that the animation is very abrupt. Like the animation has low FPS. The flex limit seems fine. The FBW A320 wing flex is very smooth animation but the 737 is like sudden changes in wing position it looks weird.
I’d like to think (hope) that pilots are generally sat in the cockpit area.
You might say they also travel in the rear, but even then that would position their point of view equal to a frequent passenger who is offering their perspective above.
where does this always come from? Either you share your opinion or you don’t but making your own statement worthless with this addition doesn’t make any sence at all.
Regarding PMDG: Their focus has ALWAYS been the simulation of systems and flight management. With previous sims developing a correct flight model was a tremendous challenge and MSFS with its hyperactive atmosphere makes it even worse so their focus is completely on that now. Anything that goes beyond the cockpit is an addition that may come in the future. “May”, not “is going to”. Wing flex is the last thing PMDG care about right now until the larger trouble with their flight model and all the other projects like tablet etc are out of the way. An opening cockpit door might be situated even behind the wings flex. Reverser pushback?? I wish they had an extensive consequences model. This is PMDG, not Captain Sim.
