737 PMDG Wingflex is super bad

I just purchased the 737-800 and I can’t believe my eyes that the wingflex is actually worse than on the FBW A320Neo which is free. Will Asobo or PMDG work on this?

Well Asobo won’t as it isn’t their product. Best asking on the PMDG forum rather than here

Topic moved to #third-party-addon-discussion:aircraft since this topic is about the PMDG 737.

@BladeRunner962 ,
This is the second PMDG post we have had to move out of General Discussion in two days.
This was yesterday’s.

Please use Third Party Addon Discussion for discussing third-party products.

Yes its terrible but PMDG dont seem to see it as bad or its not a priority.

PMDG aren’t as good as they think they are.I bought the 737-600.Wingflex is a bit of a joke and so is the reverse thrusters for pushback.May not be a normal thing to use thrusters for pushback but at some airports you need that choice. Also no opening door to go from the cockpit to the passenger cabins.Really??The 600 was priced reasonably.at $35 USD.The others are very expensive.Just my opinion.

Since it’s a PMDG product, Asobo will NOT work on it.

However, your post is now on the cusp of being a Customer Request to the manufacturer. Please report your findings to them directly. 3rd Party Forums at MSFS are provided as a courtesy area for general discussion only. Customer feedback such as yours belongs directly at PMDG. Thanks.

The, uh, what?

You really don’t.

IRL, using reverse thrust in a standstill (or even at low speed) is a great way to ruin your engine by ingesting dirt and dust. I’m not sure what you expect, but I can assure you this is a “you” problem, not a PMDG problem.

IRL, the CFM powered 737’s always use a tug for pushback. PMDG 737’s include the push back tug(which is better than the default) and is always available even if you are at an airport with no default ground service.

The old 737-200’s could reverse out of a parking spot using reverse thrust as they were originally designed to operate out of airports with limited/or no ground services available.

I could believe an actual 737 pilot, or perhap an aeronautical engineer if they said the wing flex in a 737 is unrealistic. A passel of gamers, I don’t know…

I can’t even change the distance in the built in pushback system (737-800 BBJ i.e.). Seems to be broken. So I don’t think it is better than the default. even if it worked it would not be flexible at all. They should look what FBW is doing…

Works fine for me. You can also manually drive the push back tug too…

It had worked for me but that changed. Maybe because I am using metric system in the displays. Don’t know.

I always roll my eyes when someone complains about wing flex. It’s the oldest complaint in FS and it’s so subjective that no one really knows if it’s good or bad.

To me, the wings look normal in flexing. They are not flapping like a bird, and they are not so rigid that they don’t move at all. Where the happy medium is…no one knows

Then your pushback distances will also be in metric as well.

You can switch feet and meters in the pushback screen. Either way it dows not work to enter a number - at least for me. The displays are set to metric for fuel in kg.

I think everybody has flown IRL as passenger and has looked outside the window. It is really not that hard to judge if wingflex looks realistic or not. For example the default Asobo A320 looks very realistic for me.

It is rare to use reverse thrusters for pushback, but it does happen in real life. I have seen a 737 do just that. Please tone down your disbelief because it is really a “you” problem not understanding that it is possible and does happen (rarely). PMDG has not modeled this correctly as the poster said. It works correctly on the Fenix A320.

I’ll tone down my disbelief if you can produce evidence this has ever been done with a 737NG.

Ok folks, please focus on the topic and stop engaging each other directly. Thanks.
