PMDG Sales?

I am looking out to buy the 737-800 from PMDG but they don’t have attractive prices. Especially for europeans the price is high, because the € is weak at the moment.
Do you guys know if they regulary do sale prices?

Hello there,

PMDG very rarely does sales.
If the plane is worth it for you, that most likely depends on the level of simulation you want to get from your aircraft. The PMDG planes system wise are very close to the real world. If you want to simulate real world airline schedules, with the correct aircraft configuration and have the possibility of failures, the NG3 will be worth it. If you are looking for more of a casual flight simming experience, there are multiple planes coming up (like the BlueBird 757) that will be a lot less detailed simulation wise but also quite a lot cheaper.

Why than buy the 737-600 it’s half the price of the 737-800. It is not so much different than the 800. I have the 600 and while flying it’s a great plane. And price wise at the current exange rate it’s about € 2. More then the dollar price tag.

You may want to wait for Christmas. PMDG didn’t use to do any sales at all but it seems their policy on this has changed a bit since MSFS’s release. I personally expect them to do a sale for christmas or the new year, maybe a rather short one so keep your eyes open. When they offered their sales in the last years it was usually during the larger christian holidays like Christmas or Easter.

The 737-600 is a great airplane, I enjoy it, but don’t compare it to the 737-800 that also has two different wing versions (each with different aerodynamics), a BBJ2 version that includes auxiliary fuel tanks for long haul range, and two different cargo versions that have their own complexities. There is a lot more product in the -800 compared to the -600 and the flying differences are significant.

I know, but if he thinks $ 70 (at the current exange rate € 72)
is to much then the -600 is the next choice for a PMDG Plane.

PMDG has in recent years have an anniversary sale where the percentage off is the age of the company. It’s usually in June if memory serves me correct.

If you can wait a 100 years, you could get it for free…lol

It’s 76€ though

If you can and want you could do like i did last week and get the -600 first as that fit the budget better.
And then who knows if the -800 ever goes on a decent sale then pick it up if you still are interested. Remember that next year we likely will see a LOT of airliners, some turboprops etc.

Edit:Oh and don’t forget the free A310 in a couple of weeks

100% discount would be nice

High end energy hungry gaming pc €2500-3000, MSFS2020 €129, decent flight controls €400, VR goggles €500
But €70 for an extremely accurate PMDG 737 is a no-go?
Have to admit, it’s a lot of money but top-notch quality comes with a price.
In person, I’m waiting for the PMDG tripple and I’m willing to pay for it.
Happy :small_airplane:

Just go for the 736, it’s the same cockpit and half the price. It’s the PMDG proposition for those that don’t want / can’t buy the 70$ variant.

I bought the 600 and I think it is alright for the price, I paid 35,47 EUR or so (USD-EUR exchange rate varies daily, obviously).

I am not interested in roleplaying real world operations of airlines currently using a particular aircraft. Therefore, I do not mind much that there are longer versions of the aircraft out there, which would cost me twice the dough.

The 600 has a lot of climbing power and can land rather short. A fun aircraft.
