747 aau2 setting takeoff thrust

When setting takeoff thrust on the 747-800, are the throttles supposed to automatically move to the toga setting? When I press the toga button on the throttles they don’t move. I have to set take off thrust manually.

Ok, no expert here. But in AP/FMS system in PMDG-737, manual says to get to 40% N1, then push TOGA button, and it will take over. If within 5 degrees of course, Vnav and Lnav will both light if pushed on ground, but not be active until CMD button is pushed above 400 AGL.

I do that on the 787 and 737 and works. In the 747 it doesn’t for some reason.

Ok, I have not tested 747 since AAU2 came live. But storms here tonight, so may not be able to then, but will try. Will report.

You must also make sure that the auto throttle switch on the glareshield is in the armed position.

All - I have not flown this plane in over year or better. WOW, the changes they have made. Cannot figure out where nav radio is at, so could not ensure my ILS frequency was correct. The PFD did not ever display my route, and I made sure errors were not present, think I got it in correctly.

My Checklist is way out of date for this plane, found another one, will merge both even though mine is long winded, for a newbie, it will tell them “where” to find the knobs, buttons, etc. needed to bring plane alive. Must practice to get this correct, however, plane was I think flying my route, even though it did not display in PFD. Way lots more practice on this one.

For some you may find, PMDG 737 and this one is/are different enough you might want to stick with one or the other until you get it down good. True to form, ground service vehicles were in the way, and could not figure out how to get them to move, must be pushback, but, I was not in area where pushback was needed, but could taxi straight out.

It seems to me before the (several updates) on this one, align the IRS was not possible before, but again could have missed that too, now you can do it like it’s supposed to be done Cold and Dark. FMS is also different and inputting data is not same as before, But before it mostly did not work and now think it does.

All in all better, much better plane than before, good job Asobo/MS, when you get it good, I will be first to tell you. Keep this up, you won’t need new sim.

PC and Sim Performance, no stutters, did not notice white border or any strange dots on any of my displays in plane. All systems I touched worked but again, did not have something input correctly, as route would not display on PFD. More work for me. Ok, panel lighting was darker for me, need to find knob to turn up lights more. OH, you can find the TCAS/Transponder unit, and set the correct position on the knob to “TA/RA” but am not positive it really works in plane, assuming it does, as no TCAS errors in PFD.

Isn’t there a built in checklist now?

Might be, but I do not like the drop down type of checklists in sim, as it gets in the way of pushing buttons, etc., for me.

I mean built into the aircraft. Not the sim pull-down menu

Don’t know and would not know how to find it, certainly not in the folder the plane files reside in, and also not in the route folders either. There is an online version I found, and just got link to pdf for tutorial flight. Going to check that out.

As I said, it’s built into the aircraft. There is a literal button that says “checklist”. Push it

Also suggest you read the release notes to see what else you missed.

I figured what was going on. My honeycomb toga button was not set up correctly for the 4 engine jet set up I had set up. When I assigned it to the correct setting it now goes to takeoff thrust setting on take off automatically.

There is also a toga click spot now, fyi.

Mdapol - I have TOGO button programed on TM3 unit. Please describe where that checklist button is, I cannot find it. Just had PERFECT flight in the PMDG 737-700 described on AAU2 update thread.
Will try 747 tonight, and small 800gb update 2 hours ago. Still see the white dot, on certain mouse operations.

Where is the click spot? I searched tonight but couldn’t find it.
