Several times recently I have been flying the 747 supplied in the standard edition of MSFS 2020. The controls initially work fine but after a while there is no response to the main controls e.g. throttle, flaps, landing gear but aileron and rudder control still works. Other aircraft fly fine using my XBox controller.
If you are using a USB device to control plane, sounds like windows power plan is shutting down those usb ports to save power. Go into Control Panel, Hardware, Power and create a specific power plan for MSFS 2020. Make sure Windows does not shut anything down period, no “close lid-sleep” stuff. All USB Devices stay power up, you will figure it out.
I cannot remember if MSFS has “Failures option”, if it does that may be causing this in this plane. Next time it happens, jiggle the cables and see if somehow something got lose. Personally, the embedded planes in MSFS to me are not good. But I have never had that happen when I flew it last. As aside, AAU2 update is coming out next week, and that may fix this issue if no other thing is found. Let us know what if anything you find, as that could help someone else.
