Unable to get the map display to show on any 747-8 from cold and dark. FMC is programable, ILS aligned, APU working, engins start and aircraft flies but programed flight will not display. This is only with the 747. All other aircraft do not have this issue. Any assistance is appreciated.
Just to be clear, the Flight Plan route is not displaying on the map?
If so, that’s a reported bug I’ve seen a few times on the Working Title discord, even as of a couple of days ago . They’ve acknowledged it, but have not been able to repro. I thought I saw some reference to low-end computers experiencing this, but I have a modest gaming laptop and I think I’ve only seen this once.
Only workaround I’ve seen is “Restart Flight”.
From cold dark start up, I can’t get the map to work - am I missing something? Switch to Plan and it displays the route. Map shows nothing.
Have you put a position in INIT POS? It doesn’t come automatically from GPS like other Boeings, and IRS will not finish until you do.
Yes of course - all necessary data entered.
Did you align IRS?
You have to set all 3 of your IRS switches to NAV, and then go into the POS INIT page on the FMC and click the line select key next to GPS POS to copy it into the scratch pad, then press the LSK next to SET IRS POS and your ND should then work.
Your ND shows time to align 0 min. The IRS system is aligned but you have to perform what iCrash11 said: " POS INIT page on the FMC and click the line select key next to GPS POS to copy it into the scratch pad, then press the LSK next to SET IRS POS"
Also the ramge knob is set to 40, it should be at minimum or at second pos, at is acts like a zoom.
Yes that’s it. I didn’t copy the GPS. Thanks!
