747 yoke / control surfaces are useless

747 yoke and surfaces for aileron, rudder and elevator STILL have a huge input lag between controller input and actual movement in game.

Made a video of it. Basically in the video you see my hand move the joystick to it’s fullest extend (in all directions) and the ingame yoke/control surfaces (also when viewed from exterior) take a few seconds to reach their fullest extend.

Try some crosswind landings with gusting and there’s no way to control the plane like this.

A year after release and some of the default planes are still completely useless.

Nice trailer they made about every reviewer gaving them 9/10 or 10/10.

Here’s a video of an 747 so you can see it’s perfectly capable of doing quick input movements: https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/9PAakXmzeio

You can remove the input lag in one of the 747 cfg files.

Any idea wich cfg file? I can only find keyboard_response in the gameplay cfg.

Can’t remember. I’ve tried it once. The solution shouldn’t be too difficult to find with the search function.

I doubt that in a real 747 the yoke can be turned instantly without the hydraulic pumps needing a few seconds for the ailerons.

Like in the wooden propeller thread, your assumption is completely wrong.

Hydraulically powered flight controls move basically instantly.

you can doubt all you want. But it’s still wrong.

Even if there was a delay because of the hydraulic pumps suddently becoming the slowest thing on earth, this doesnt explain why the yoke has so much lag does it?

And i’ve included a youtube link from a video showing control inputs during a windy landing in a 747. Movement like this is impossible in msfs with the 747.

thanks i’ll look for it. Still weird that this is somehow how it is designed to be…

I have no ideao why Asobo has implemented this delay. It’s not there at 0kts.

ah yes i noticed this now too. Did they try to simulate the air going over the surfaces or something :joy:

What a joke. Thanks for your help though, will look for the solution thread after dinner.

Under [AIRPLANE_GEOMETRY] section

controls_reactivity_scalar = 20

Found it.
