787 10

Brief description of the issue:

I am unable to start the Left engine. June 22 update. The right one starts without any problems. I deleted the aircraft from the official folder and had MSFS reinstall it but the problem is still there. I checked controls and there are no mappings for toggle engine 1 fuel valve, which has been mentioned as a possible problem. I tested two other aircraft, 737, 330 and they work fine. I emptied the community folder but the same problem. Using the default livery.

Yes left engine will spool up about half way and just stop working.

I’ve tried absolutely everything and cannot find a solution to this problem. No one on steam could help me so now I’m here. Left engine will spool up almost half way and just stop. Right engine works fine, I did a flight with the 787 the day before the update came out and everything was working. If I load onto the runway the engine will run for about 5 seconds before shutting down completely, right engine continues to work properly.

One thing I have noticed is the AI Pilot can start and run the left engine without problems. As soon as you disable the AI the engine will stop. So what is the AI sending to the code for the left engine?

Ok, I have a solution for my issue. While troubleshooting, I disconnected the Honeycomb throttles and started MSFS. No problem starting the left engine of the 787. Ok, so there is something about the throttles that is the issue. I have the Boeing 737 throttle quadrant setup on this, which leaves two axis not used. They are pushed down to 0, at the bottom of the controls and out of the way. Apparently the 787 was looking at these non used axis and used one to control the fuel flow for the left engine, even though I never mapped this. No other aircraft I have has looked at these axises. So going into the Control setup I unmapped the axis from fuel control and was able to get the left engine to run correctly.

Thank you so much for this! I have the same throttle so that must be the issue for me too. I can finally do long hauls now.

When you were having this issue was the Gen 1 switch flicker too and causing the Eng 1 throttle to surge while climbing?

Not for me.
