I personally load the flight plan myself. I use simbrief to create the flight and then enter all the data myself, from initialization to performance, not using the simbrief auto load intergration. At a bought airport (EDDF, EGLL… from the premium deluxe upgrade), the instrument screens will go dark before even engine start. I reduced most traffic (I still use online real time traffic, I reduced on ground plane traffic to 10, cut off completely ground cars and workers) and deleted and turned off the rolling cache. I still use photogrammetry. For other “non-modeled” airports, the screens will turn off at some point during the flight (sometimes when I touch the EICAS switch or the ND range, sometimes just randomly). After the screens go dark, they most of the time turn back on after a few seconds, but with everything gone. The whole plan has to be made again.
I have installed liveries from 4Simmers and 2Pilot. Should I uninstall them and try again? If it does not work, should I uninstall all addons I’ve bought even for other planes?
Unfortunately this is likely the answer. The sim is unstable on Xbox, particularly the Series S, because it doesn’t have enough memory. The developers have been trying to improve this for years.
Not necessarily all addons, but the general rule is the more you throw at the Xbox, the more likely you’ll run into instability or other issues via black screens, stutters, FPS drops, LOD reductions, and CTDs. Testing via process of elimination sometimes works, as does reducing other features like live weather, traffic, etc.
Will try that. Didn’t know live weather caused performance drops however. Is it actually impactful? Because if the weather does not match simbrief plans might as well not use simbrief
Hello blade
Originally I had the Xbox s, had CTD, and black instruments! when I saw that Microsoft was releasing 2024! Decided to get the series X
Haven’t had any issues with black screens or CTD!
I’m contemplating that option as well. Have you used the 787-10 from the premium deluxe upgrade? Is the difference in occurrence of black screens really important? Because if I buy a series X it would be solely for this and I’d hate to still have the same problem.
Only used to get black screens on the PC version when Asobo changed the controller settings after an update without telling us, just for testing try using any default settings for the controller or keyboard to see if it makes any difference. In the Xbox settings can you set Glass Screens to low?
I don’t think there is any option on XBOX to control glass screen rates. If there is, please let me know how.
I honestly think it’s a RAM issue. The series might be weak I believe. I deleted literally everything that was deletable until only the base game was there and the 787-X. It didn’t change anything. I have other ideas in mind and we’ll see.
Dont bother with the Series X if you are only flying the 787. I dont suffer black avionics but the performance is really bad in terms of stuttering. It feels like going at 60 knots when you land at a heavy airport.
747 and 787 used to be my favorite airliners but not after SU13 and SU14.
