A horrible, buggy, mess

That’s the best way I can describe the flight sim in it’s current state. A horrible, buggy, mess. This is a game being published by a multi-billion dollar company, being sold at AAA prices. If this was an indie game that I picked up because I thought it looked cool, I’d be more forgiving; but it isn’t, and I’m not.

I can’t believe I paid $160CAD to bug-test Microsoft’s game for them. Absolutely furious.

I totally agree, I was in both the Alpha and Beta programs for this sim and it has way more bugs now.

I am actually starting to think there was an internal challenge at Microsoft to see how badly they could break a game for release. Nothing works.

Very strange… I had the exact opposite experience. I found that most bugs from the Alpha/Beta were fixed. Certainly the major bugs are all gone.

It really depends on the various computer configurations. I had successfull flighst with AP and without yesterday.

AP is working great for me.

That really shouldn’t be an issue. Also the terrible performance on high-end machines. I don’t even want to imagine people trying to play on min specs. Their performance must be measured in SPF (seconds per frame).

I also have had a positive experience. Trees have been improved in areas I advised and TrackIR is now functioning much better. Sure there are other issues that may be addressed or not. I was always surprised at what people demanded from the default aircraft. I currently believe they are better than default aircraft from FSX and P3d, even better than some payware aircraft I have on the other sims.

Come on, it’s not bad at all. This will be the platform to use for next decade and for sure it will be ironed out to a perfection. Also the major developers are already in the bandwagon to provide us with the high quality modules we need.

as i mentioned, it doesnt effect all configurations.

I have following rig:
I78086k, 32GB Ram, 2080RTX
playing 4k on average 30 to 40fps

The only issue i sometimes have is on big scenery aiports for example EDDF from Deluxe Edition when there a lot of other players. Then it can go below 30fps

Besides that i have very stable fps and enjoyable expierience. With updated drivers and upcoming patches it should get more stable.

For me , I very grateful compare what we have before, now the sim is released and of course there will not be perfect in the first time, and by the way we are always asking when they will come out ! Right?
if we are all exacting to be perfect i think this sim will never ever release. give them time. and we already fly with the sim that look so unreal for so many years right?
But if you cant take this defect of this product you can go back to the sim that we have come from.

Nvidia released a new driver optimized for MSFS. Try installing it if you’re having performance issues.

I was looking forward to my first flight with the Cessna 172.

After about 12 hrs I was finally able to also download the Premium Deluxe content.

Unfortunately then my first flight was not really enjoyable. I was permanently fighting against the autopilot and finally crashed. Maybe my handling was wrong. But with FSX and X-Plane I can fly a IFR approach.

Also the re-arrangement of the controls setting page was surprising. I found it more well-arranged in the closed beta version.

Another issue i have is with ATC, I don’t hear the voices - I only can read the text.

So for now I first have to finish with all the control bindings, then do some more explorations.

Gripes on a highest level. Wanna do it better the next times?

Yeah, I’ve also had that problem. It seems to be an Azure issue. Switching “Text-To-Speech” to “Windows Offline” fixes that. Keeping it that way until the Azure issue is resolved.

Thanks for the hint. Will try this.

Just did that before the release and not having any notable performance related issues.

I can fly it without AP, but sometimes I just want to relax and enjoy the scenery
