I have just had a CTD even with the Auto RAM settings…so I suppose RAM is not concerned with this problem
I have a 550W Corsair CS550M 1x12V, 80+ Gold…I guess it is running properly, no other problems detected in addition to these MSFS CTDs
hmmm… 550w is hard at the limit, but normaly should works.
Have you any kind of “special” usb devices ?
and a question about: where you mostly flight … USA ?
What do you mean with “special”? I have plugged the keyord, wireless mouse, yoke and rudder pedestral.
Never been to the USA…I only fly within Europe
Ok, I’ll give it a try
ohh… bluetoooootthhh ? ( Bluetooth )
Some users have issues with it ( sleep mode, etc ). Therefore I ask…
Good point. I wonder how many issues could be caused by the computer supplying power to hungry peripherals? Alpha and Bravo have LEDs. Some peripherals have displays. Even with a powered USB hub, how good is the power?
And even USB devices being turned off by Windows after so many minutes of not being used. If these devices have been asleep for thirty minutes during cruise, and then you wake them up by changing throttle or yoke, what happens?
Are the users aware of Windows power profiles including things like turning off hard drives, etc.?
hmmm… not sure whether also the sleep mode for usb devices cause issues… have only threads about BT in mind. Windows (2004) itself had a while trouble with the enery setting “Selective USB energy saving”.
I have already tried with traffic off but having CTDs as well
I really don’t know what other trial should I make…I am still getting CTDs, let’s say 1 CTD in 3 flights. Do you suggest me to uninstall and reinstall the sim? Would it make some difference?
My fix with 1080ti was to enable “debug mode” on Nvidia Control Panel, disable Vsync there and enable Vsync in game with 30FPS limit. Since then I can play Ultra, online, AI etc.
I use the Nvidia driver 460.91 not the new one !
Ok, thanks, I’ll try also this one.
I can’t find this driver…do you mean 460.89?
to many CTD for a normal “behavior” and I not assume that re-installing can help.
If you realy want to try it, then you have to ensure a full un-uninstall as per FAQ MS / Steam.
Does the CTD happens at same position on map ? There are some rare map issues…
Important is to try to disable all Network-Relevant settings ( AI*, live, Generic models, etc. ) so we can sure that nothing comes from this side.
Also again related to Bluetooth mouse… There are uses which have issues with BT devices ! If possible try a “cabled mouse” for a test.
Otherwise: have you already checked your system temperatures ? At least for the GPU ?
No, it happens randomly
Ok, I’ll try and use a cabled mouse
Ok, I’ll check with CPU-Z and send you a screenshot
Just had a CTD while starting my engines…I was using a cabled mouse. Here are the temperatures:
