A310-300 checklist: what "ISDU -- Set" mean?

Hi all, in the A310-300 Preliminary Cockpit Preparation there is this line:

ISDU Set

What is this? What I have to do? I suppose it has to do wirh IRS but I don’t understand what I have to check, thanks!

Thanks for your reply but WHAT I have to set?

It’s the little display at the top left of the overhead panel. It provides IRS navigation data. You can set it to know your position, or track and ground speed, heading… I use it to know the IRS aligning time remaining.

Thanks, I’ll check it!

Do you use HDG/STS for the remaining time?

Yes, once you have set the SID and STAR and pressed ALIGN IRS on the MCDU INIT page, the HDG/STS shows the time remaining for IRS alignment.

So IDSU = IRS Display?
And if so why isnt it named that way in checklist or why there is no hint?

So if its the “IRS Display” why it will not appear highlighted in centre when hitting the eye button in checklist? Why do they have to make it unnecessarily complicated?

There are many hints not indicated when you press the eye icon.

Bugs, but I don’t want to waste my time reporting them, many of these bugs are ignored

So many checklists are worthless? Too bad :frowning:

The best thing is to study or ask when you don’t understand what to do or what are you doing. Search on the net for videos from real pilots, download Airbus manual and so on.

If you have problem ask also to me, now I have a good view of what we can/have to do
