The downloads folder is where the fenix downloads the files to - it then decompresses and installs them in your community folder. It “should” then delete the downloaded file - although I can’t say I’ve checked that it cleans up after itself.
The default for me is C:\ProgramData\Fenix\Livery Manager\Downloads
No I was on cruise level without flaps or landing gear out. It happened after 30minutes or more of flying. I am quite sure it has to do with live weather and changing wind Speed/ Direction. Problem is that overspeed has to be handled manually
just did a manual approach on RW 25R of VHHH under 20knots approach cross wind. followed the ILS path and I started flare at the 40 call out and touch down quite smoothly (IMO), but the touchdown zone was like 2 markers (1000ft?) past the landing target point, actually flew over the point at 20 call out, was that normal? or in real life you have to aim a bit more on the earlier mark and start flare?
if you fly near the overspeed limit and the wind direction suddenly change it will overspeed, as say you change from 20 knots tail wind to 40knots head wind you will get extra 60 knots IAS. if so the AP will disengage and let the pilot deal with it sounds normal to me
but then start pulling the stick at 40 call out actually started the flaring move around 30, which just barely makes the touch down speed below 100FPM, if start at 20’ it likely just ramp down at 600fpm or so?
A good landing (in the real world) isn’t touching down at 100fpm. It’s nice if it works out that way but the aim of the game is right place, right speed.
You obviously flare more at 20ft than at 40ft but that’s the way it is. We don’t start to flare the 787 until after the 30ft call.
As I said, I’ve never flown an Airbus so may be talking nonsense, but in the real world I used to flare the 737 between 10 and 20 feet and currently flare the 787 at about 25ft.
Maybe there’s a realworld Airbus pilot can chip-in but I would have said 40ft seems awfully high for a narrow-body.
Flare really only comes in when the ‘retard’ sounds, usually at 20 ft.
The A320 is quite different to flare from the 737 for instance, due to the very high wheel base you have a lot of room. I remember the FWB Neo had the advice to pull the joystick about 30%, keeping a very steep nose up attitude.
