Sounds like more a marketing strategy , i hope im wrong
Or get them both. That’s my plan.
If Fenix has the same good price than PMDG 737, I’ll buy both. Cross your fingers ![]()
I thought this message would make this post explode, but is pretty calm here. I’ve bought too many great planes this week. This will be added to my hangar too… how do I find the time to fly them all?
I have the feeling that the Fenix A-320 will be the sleeper airliner release and surprise. There has been no recent hyperbole compared to the others. I’ll reserve judgment until we get a preview/review but hopeful!
Well, if it IS days, then that has made my decision on what to get of the recent releases. I haven’t gotten the MD-80 or the BAE 146 yet, was thinking of the PMDG 737. But SA Airways runs a fleet of A320, A330, and A350’s. So since I fly out of Johannesburg so much, this news seals the deal for me.
(I will probably buy the others too later. I’m just talking about which I would purchase first. I buy scenery every week, but a plane only like once or twice a month…)
I also haven’t bought BAe and the Maddog yet. I was planning to get them next week but this kind of an announcement changed my plans. I am going to get Fenix A320 and PMDG 737 and those two remaining birds a bit later.
The BAE and Mad Dog are both wonderful planes. Having had a week with them both I would say the BAE is a real pilots plane once you know how to control it, it’s AP is a real treat to use.
The Mad Dog has a lot going on and can get a little hectic at times.
The thing is they are a different era of planes. But the fenix and the pmdg will be the bomb for sure
You’re gonna like this message from Aamir in their Discord. Really curious as to how low they are gonna go…
A real SA Airways jetliner, a modern airliner, fully realistic, AND reasonably priced? Mark me as excited now…
Side note: I spend a lot of time in the sim, but I am more GA or STOL/bush flying. For example this morning was practicing landings on some really short grass strips in the French Alps. So getting excited for a jetliner is quite an accomplishment…
Put your Maddog funds toward BAE-146, Fenix A-320 or PMDG 737. Thank me later.
So the price is going to be something less than £140. Well I don’t have any complaints about that for sure.
With PMDG looking to charge somewhere around $240 for their four 737 variants which I am sure is basically one core aircraft with a few appearance and VAPP tweaks. It makes the Fenix single aircraft appear a bargain.
My question is where do Fenix go from here? Have they got top secret A318 A319 A321 variants in development that they will spring upon us? I suspect not.
Do they go back to Prosim and say well thanks for the A320 code what else have you got? Oh! only 737 but PMDG have just released one of those. Well the market probably won’t stand another.
Do they develop something without Prosim given all the expertise that they must have developed on the A320 like an A350 for instance. Well I’d certainly prefer that option. Guess all we can do is wait and see.
Anyone else had any thoughts or fantasies on this one or even heard any good rumours?
Yeah, I couldn’t resit and bought the MD, 146 and c310R. If I knew the airbus was this close, I wouldn’t have bought the MD and/or 146. At least I can buy my pmdg with the credits I’ve got from the ngu.
Is there any formal communication from the fenix team, or is it just the replys to a few comments?
They have been extremely sulent for awhile now on there website at least
I’m hoping it may be quite significantly cheaper than PMDG’s $70, and for the more mainstream market it may need to be (of course airline enthusiasts will hopefully buy both):
Given there are currently no good 737s, $70 on the PMDG gets you from nothing to an excellent 737. Whereas with the Fenix, we are paying to go from a very good (FBW ) to an excellent (Fenix) A320, and if they are both priced around $70 the mainstream user (including me!) may think flying the PMDG 737 and the FBW A320 represents the best value at $70 total.
So sad that xbox is never going to get this. We really need an A320 since the FBW A320NX licence means it will never come to xbox and the default A320 is about as useful as a plastic toy.
At least we should get the PMDG 737 eventually but it seems like there will never be a realistic A320 for xbox.
Well, FSLabs also released only an A320 for prepar3d, and later, two or three years later, released their A319 and A321 variants (and, till now, they are the best A320 family simulated in any simulator). I bet Fenix will do the same, but I hope Fenix does it in less time (about a year from now? That would be awsome).
Aerosoft is making an A330 and has plans to develop an A350, so market is full from now. In one year we will have many airliners to fly.
I wish Fenix A320 be as good as Fslabs A320 is in prepar3d.
I have no personal interest in this aircraft, as it will never appear on Xbox (in this case, never is the appropriate word) but obviously it looks great and seems on a par with the 737. I would expect it to be priced similarly (£50-£60)
I thought Mathijs Kok had dismissed the possibility of development of the A350 as insufficient data for the aircraft wasn’t available. I certainly hope they’ve had a change of heart as it’s my most wished for airliner.
If Fenix do go on to develop the A319 and A321 I’ll definitely be buying.
