A320 Neo/A321LR Fuel x feed not working

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Fuel x feed in both A320 Neo v2 and A321LR from inibuilds doesn’t work(it does work on their A330 though)

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

Always

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Load A320 Neo v2 or A321LR from inibuilds

  2. Take off with fuel only in the wing tanks(center tank empty)

  3. turn on x feed, turn off left OR right fuel pumps, observe fuel quantity(both tanks continue decreasing equally)

Can replicate the issue: I am not an airliner specialist but if I’ve correctly configured the fuel x feed and shut down the left tank pumps, we can confirm that fuel from left tank is still incorrectly consumed.

My bad, I thought you were saying that it’s working correctly instead of confirming that it’s bugged, so I went on to explain how X FEED should operate, lol. That’s what you get with few hours of sleep

Thank you for testing and confirming it’s bugged.

I have added some wording to make clear I was able to reproduce the issue.

Remember, as detailed as the IniBuilds A320/21’s are they are still Default aircraft, not every function is modeled! I think this is the case here! I just checked the A320-Neo in 2020 and it doesn’t work there as well!!

I don’t thinks, indeed not every system are modelised, but these system are generaly marked as “inop” when you pass your mouse on it

And anyway the fuel x feed has to be modelised because necessary in certain conditions..

And no one expects from them to be study level simulations like the PMDG, Leonardo Maddog, etc. But I would expect the crucial systems like this to be properly simulated, systems that are essential for normal operations

Example Terrain Radar button functions but no actual terrain radar on the ND, another one the cockpit door switch on the center console is clickable yet has no function, and has no inop indication, in fact there is no inop signs on any button or switch anywhere in the cockpit!

The terrain visualisation on ND was usable until few month ago because of a bug

And that’s a poor example since terrain radar is simulated and it worked, but they CHOSE to turn it off for the time being as it was causing WASM crashes(it still works in MSFS2020, it’s only causing problems in 2024). They intend to bring it back once they figure it out. Cockpit door switch? Who cares about that, it’s irrelevant for the flight, fuel X FEED is absolutely crucial system as you can’t fix a fuel imbalance without it. Their A330 has it working, so there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work in the A320NEO/A321LR

Airbus fuel management is automatic so unless in case of failure which is not modeled, or they simulate different fuel flow rates per engine, unlikely on a default airplane and fuel is loaded via the EFB as designed, there normally should never be a case you would have an imbalance getting from point A to B so there would be no need to Xfeed! Have you seen this functioning prior to SU4? I haven’t, nor have I needed to Xfeed to complete my flights!

Except when it’s too hot outside(30C+), you would be running APU while on ground the whole time. APU uses fuel only from the left tank, which creates imbalance. You’re now going out of your way to justify the crucial system not working. Plus, as I already mentioned, it works on their other aircraft that has similar systems(A330, also default btw), so there’s no reason why it shouldn’t work on 320/321 series. Just because you don’t use it, doesn’t mean others won’t!

Good Point, but regardless whether it was a bug or by design before, it appears they worked on the A320/21 fuel system in the build released today, though no mention in the release notes and broke the loading of fuel via the planes EFB. You can only load now via the Sims EFB. Don’t know if payload loading is also hosed?
