Please note: this discussion is following on from a previous discussion in the Sim Update Beta 8 section, as I am continuing to get to the bottom of what’s going on.
For me too. Maybe the MOds can merge these two topics about nearly the same issue? Cant follow the ils-glidepath down to the RWY since SU8
And i rembere that the fbw had before the su 8 an sound when you are 1000ft below your cruze alt. That sound isnt anymore there after the su 8 update.
So moving on from my last tests, I wanted to see if the presence of the Bredok3d plane would affect the standard plane Approach mode.
The summary of today’s testing is as follows:
EGFF → EGLL in the Default A320, did not catch the G/S initially, but I managed to make it catch it! (more below about this)
EGLL → EGFF (return flight) - worked fine
EGLL → EGFF in Bredok3d, WORKED FINE!
The first flight threw up something interesting, a bug I think, highlighted by user error.
When clicking on the APPR button to engage approach mode, if the plane doesn’t think that it’s time for approach mode, it will set the button state to ‘OFF’ (not green).
However if you hover over the button, it will show the state of ‘ON’ despite appearing to be off. If you click the button to try to reset this state ‘ON to OFF’, it still stays as ‘ON’.
This can be seen in the following video, at around 52 minutes:
So the user error part of this, will be around when I am engaging the APPR. I have been engaging APPR on Pattern Entry, which has largely succeeded, but clearly not always
