I think the inibuilds A320s are complete junk. I cannot get the autopilot to respond to heading altitude speed or anything. I see great videos on Youtube but this isn’t a good plane to fly at least for me it isn’t. I live in San Clemente so if anyone lives near by in California and come over and help me figure out whats going on that would be great. I only use a mouse and a keyboard so maybe thats the problem. I sure hope Fenix works better than inibuilds.
Just to echo what DanDaredum said: definitely try out the FlyByWire A320. Not only is it free, but also very good. Fenix is great (I have both), but starting with the FBW version might help you sort out the underlying problem first before having to put down more money.
I am afraid that you will have the same problems with the FBW A320 - which, by the way, works reasonably well in MSFS 2024 - and even more so with the Fenix A320. They may be related to your use of the mouse and keyboard only, but the autopilot in the iniBuild A320 should nevertheless be able to be operated perfectly in your way of controlling the sim.
So my question is: Are you generally familiar with the operation of an airbus or have you only recently started using it?
If you want to familiarize yourself with the Airbus in more detail, you can find very good documentation here:
I sent a support ticket into inibuilds and they asked for me to send a video. So I know MSFS 2024 has a recording option my question is does it save the video to upload to gmail so I can send it? I would like them to see it. Is there a way to save the video in the program so I can save it to disk and upload to gmail?
I fly it all the time and have absolutely no issues with it. Are you seeing it up correctly using simbrief? Have you turned on the flight directors? Many things you are penalty doing wrong
Not using simbrief yet. I just want to be able to control the aircraft before I get simbrief. Basic autopilot functions dont work and master caution and beeps going off.
How do you set it up correctly? This is what I do. I set altitude speed VS ftpm heading. I don’t use nav yet because I don’t have simbrief yet. I do plan on getting it though. I also wonder if part of my sim is corrupted though. I even have some trouble with the Cessna Citation Longitude Autopilot as well. I find parts work fine like my smaller Cessna props and other props but I do have some trouble with the jets. I know I used to fly airliners like a pro with FS2004. That was 20 or so years back but things were much more simple compared to now with 2024 isn’t really that easy. They make it look easy on Youtube but when you really try it for yourself or at least in my experience it’s very differicult to fly the airliners and even some of the business jets.
I also have no problems with the inibuilds airbusses. It is possible to make realistic flights from startup to shutdown. Sometimes I change my destination during the flight and use the sec fplan. This is all implemented sufficiently well.
However, and this is the point, you need basic knowledge of the Airbus philosophy and the use of the MCDU and FCU. And the Fenix Airbus is even more precise and complex.
There are a lot of documentations and videos on the internet that describe the handling of the Airbus systems well enough for beginners. i know it has its flaws, but there is really no reason to call the inibuilds Airbus „complete junk“.
PS: MSFS 2024 on XBOX, no keyboard, no mouse, no simbrief, just the controller
There’s a learning curve. The Airbus AP is completely different than a Boeing. I thought the same as you when I first started learning it in 2020. But now I’m a pro at it. Same thing with learning Simbrief. But you’ll learn it. I learned on the default A320 in 2020 which was a much easier simplified Airbus. V2 is more advanced and maybe a bit too much for first timers. The A320nx guide the other guy posted is a great learning tool.
Since the SU1 patch I find this plane works great, but you have to know how to use the autopilot. Now I’ve not tried with mouse and keyboard connected so that maybe an issue but I can test if you would like.
The A320 won’t allow the use of autopilot if you haven’t filled out the 2 INIT pages on the MCDU, selected a takeoff runway on the FLT PLN page and programmed your takeoff speeds in the PERF page. One you’ve done all that, just turn on the flight directors (FD button in front of you), dial in an altitude and away you go
Okay thank you maybe that’s what I am missing. I guess I will get simbrief and try it out. I sure hope it works well because I would like to try using it.
