A320neo autopilot issues

The Autopilot is broken since the Japan update !
All forum attest that, and the ILS flight is clearly unplayble.
I think that the update 1.14.5.0 of the 9 march will fix it, but doesn’t…
Flight Simulator please FIX IT, i want to play and train with the autopilot !

Do you have the A32nx mod installed? If you don’t it enhances the A320 so much, including the autopilot. It is especially good if you want to use the A320 for training. The default A320 is so bad in my opinion, I don’t know why anyone would still use it ( If you are a full on airliner simmer). Hope this helps.

A320 autopilot is not broken. ILS flight is not unplayable. Less hyperbole and more details please.

JointeddOrc6852, i don’t have any mod installed, i will try it thanks you !
mdapol, the autopilot no longer follow the flight plan, the plane turns left, right or tilts until stalled, I am forced to continuously correct with the joystick but it disengage the autopilot like many people who have the same worries since the Japan update.
I tried to find something to correct it on the web, and tried to apply the suggestion but no one works, and everybody said that we just have to wait a patch fix, since october and still broken.
(I had no issues before this patch too)

If the link doesn’t work, type flybywire in google and the web should come up first. Make sure to download the installer and get the development version. Let me know how the mod goes, you should be impressed

What is your flight model set to?

Try to increase the dead zones on your controller as well, for a lot of people that solved the autopilot issues.

10% should do.

All - instead of screaming that the A320 isn’t working (which none of the airlines that Asobo put in are really working) - PLEASE download the FlyByWire mod and call it a day.

The mod isn’t working so well for me right now. I’ve tried figuring out what the issue could be and reinstalling it many times and it’s still broken. My biggest issue is in fact the AP in the dev version. It won’t follow the FP sometimes. Sim update 3 broke the mod for me.

Hi, maybe what happened to me could help you.
After Japan upgrade and UK upgrade some keyboard commands were restored , those i had deleted after the first installation of FS.
For example, the commands that control surfaces of the plane.
I recommend that you disable (in Option/Commands/Keyboard) any keyboard commands that affect the numeric keypad, especially the 8, 4, 6, and 2 keys.
After clearing these commands (ailerons, rudder etc.) the autopilot works normally.
In fact, if it is true that a movement of the joystick automatically deactivates the autopilot, even a very short press of key 4, for example, causes the aircraft to tilt to the left WITHOUT the autopilot deactivating. The aircraft will continue to turn to the left until it reaches a bank angle which will cause the aircraft to stall and give you the impression that it is a defect in the autopilot.
Tell me if this works…and excuse my bad english.

I can add some color to this topic, and hopefully its more helpful for the group to help assist in a resolution.

It’s important to note I am using keyboards for controls- why is another top for another day. However, out of an abundance of caution, I cleared the elevator and aileron controls then re-set them using arrow left/right, up/down appropriately. This did not clear the issue. There are no assignment confects.

When the autopilot is engaged and a rate of decent or climb set, the autopilot does not respond. It will kick in a few seconds later with severe parabolic actions. Also, when I click to increase or decrease rate of climb the button either turns but the value is not updated, or the value updates but the button is not responding. Furthermore, the heading select also is not reliable- value is set but the aircraft does not immediately respond. When it finally does, it will with extreme bank and continue to go in full 360 degrees past the assigned heading. Eventually once at cruse, things stabilize and I can use heading changes without issue.

I understand there is a mod out there, and I will download and install it. I think we should not lose sight of the issue. If this is a bug then Microsoft should fix it. Basic A/P functions should work- I don’t think that’s asking for a lot.

Unfortunately, I’ve been having issues with the mod as well since update. The AP doesn’t want to follow the FP and just decided to fly straight north instead. Idk why this is the case, but just letting you know beforehand.

MODERATOR EDIT:
For me, the A320 Autopilot does not hold the HDG or RNAV direction at all, you have to control manually.
Neither uninstalling the plane and reinstalling , nor Modem nor without Mod helped.

U mnie Autopilot A320 w ogóle nie trzyma kierunku HDG, ani RNAV, trzeba sterować ręcznie.
Nie pomogło ani odinstalowanie samolotu i ponowne zainstalowanie , ani Modem ani bez Modu .
