ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Note: These issues were initially discovered and discussed in the SU4 beta but I don’t see any topics here related to these specific issues.
Center tank has a negative burn rate when pumps are on: If the fuel pumps are switched on, fuel will begin to be loaded into the center tank. When testing in cruise, the tank fills at a rate of approximately 600 pounds per minute or 36,000 pounds per hour. This does not happen if the center tank pumps are switched off, but doing so results in the issue below.
Center tank burns way too much fuel when the center tank pumps are switched off: Testing in cruise, I found the burn rate and reported data to be as follows. During a 10 minute stretch, the aircraft reported a burn rate of around 5,000 pounds per hour and 820 lbs of fuel used. In actuality, the quantity of fuel burned was 2140 lbs giving a burn rate of 12,840 pounds per hour.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
-
Prepare the aircraft from cold and dark with some level of fuel in the center tank
-
Fly to cruise altitude where fuel burn rate is steady to measure either the center tank pumps off or on
