Hi all A32NX lovers. I was wondering if there is any way to get the tail number (registration number) on the flight deck instrument panel. I thought there was a setting in MSFS options where you could type it in, but have I missed it somewhere? Just seems silly flying an Australian liveried aircraft with a German rego plate staring at you. Thanks!
Curious about this too about the customisable Selcal plate number. I only know a mod to change the plate itself, but I haven’t really tested it to see if the number itself can be changed.
The registration number and selcal number and fully implemented in a texture.
With software like Paint.net and Co. you can change it yourself (I did that for myself).
Unfortunately, it is not known whether the numbers from the MSFS setting can ever be adopted or whether the ingenious developers of FlybyWire can manage them.
But would be desirable.
PS. The texture is “A320NEO_COCKPIT_DECALSALPHA_ALBD.PNG.DDS” and is located in the folder “A32NX \ SimObjects \ AirPlanes \ Asobo_A320_NEO \ TEXTURE” from the community folder.
Thanks, I thought that may be the case. I might have a go at it, but could be a lot of faffing around if you are not conversant with paint programs, Like me, LoL
I’m not sure if this is what you ment. But inside the A32NX folder, there is a “CUSTOMIZE” folder, with a .psd file. In there you find the cockpit reg plate which you can change. You have to convert it to a .dds file, when done (with Photoshop or Paint.net). Rename it A320NEO_COCKPIT_DECALSALPHA_ALBD.PNG.DDS (as Simson166 described) and copy it to the A32NX texture folder.
In general: I think I saw an entry in the Panel.cfg to implement the MSFS reg in the cockpit, but I never tried it out. This may work in default planes, but the A32NX reg plate is at a different position than the default. So it wouldn’t work anyway.

You can easyl change tail number and atc callsign:
Home at wold map you click on your aircraft. Then got options, under ATC options, click on aircraft and text in you registration.
In flight it will apears on cocpit board an outside as tail number

Yeah, I remember the Selcal plate number follows the tail registration setup. But I think they only work in the default aircraft. And since some liveries has a hard-painted registration number on it. You’d have to make the actual tail registration used by the sim to be invisible. And therefore it’ll flow through the one in the cockpit as well.
Yes, it only works with Asobo’s standard aircraft.
The A320Nx has its own cockpit and therefore the automatic implementation does not work (at the moment).
Yes, as suggested earlier, thats something that A32NX crew could look at implementing, even if its just the cockpit selcal panel can be modified, but not the fuselage rego, that would be an improvement as its something you almost “have” to look at whilst in the drivers seat
