A32NX FS2024 compatible liveries

I have a bunch of liveries for the plane that show up in the gallery to choose among them, but no flight will load with any one of them. Camera remains in the sky while the buildings load and the airport gets populated with other traffics, except the A32NX. It’s clearly a livery compatibility issue, since the stock plane loads flawlessly. The problem is, having checked the liveries available on flightsim.to, they’re all compatible with FS2020 only.

Where can we find liveries compatible with 2024?

I just counted, and I have 28 A32NX liveries working in 2024. Some others, however, won’t load, and also cause the sim to freeze on exit, and I can’t figure out why. (This applies to liveries for other 2020 legacy aircraft, not just the A32NX.) This guy was able to fix a couple, but he never explained to me how he did it. Unofficial Guide to Conversion of Liveries for MSFS 2024 (2020 legacy aircraft only) - #35 by AdamskiNZ

The solution really isn’t that easy to explain simply: there are just too many factors/variables involved - depending on how each livery was set up by the original author and the [ever changing] way MSFS 2024 appears to treat legacy 3rd party liveries. You’ll need to Google the solutions and create your own procedures, but the steps (typically are):

  1. Check that textures.cfg and panel.cfg are correct (check against known/working examples).
  2. Recreate the aircraft.cfg file to the new 2024 format.
  3. Create a new set of thumbnails.
  4. [Optional]: convert the texture files to KTX2.
  5. Clean up, then run MSFS Layout Generator to create a new layout.json file.

You may find the information out there is out of date or contradictory - especially when it comes to the way liveries are grouped/sorted.

This is with 3rd party aircraft. Converting liveries for Asobo default aircraft is a black art that I have yet to get to grips with.

Ok, thanks. What would help a lot too is to clearly separate the liveries that work in 2024 from the others on the flightsim.to website and make that visible on the thumbnails, without needing to open each and every livery. I don’t know how to contact the flightsim.to webmasters to tell them.

Thanks a lot for clarifying. Seems tedious though. I doubt I’ll have time to do that, but thanks anyway.
