Hello everyone! Was flying on autopilot in MFS-2024 on an Airbus A330-300, cruising at FL400. The flight is in VATSIM, in controlled airspace, with a lot of other aircraft around.
Suddenly, an issue arises: the aircraft starts “bouncing”—it climbs to FL420 and then drops back down. I try to push the aircraft down using the sidestick, but it’s unresponsive. Everything happens very quickly, and I completely lose control. For two minutes, I couldn’t figure out what was wrong.
Found that the Flight Director (FD) was disabled. However, as far as I understand, in a normal situation, the FD shouldn’t interfere with the autopilot’s operation. The FD primarily provides visual guidance to the pilot, while the autopilot can operate independently.
So, the question is: why does disabling the FD in MFS-2024 cause this behavior? Is this a bug in the A330-300, or is it an issue with the simulator itself?
Honestly, I’m tired of dealing with such problems. Instead of enjoying flying and the simulation experience, I’m constantly troubleshooting settings and adapting to these bugs. It’s incredibly frustrating.
