A330 extreme sim performance slowdowns

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: In the scope of the troubleshooting for the MT slowdowns after SU3 I stumbled across another issue seemingly affecting iniBuilds planes. Since this does also affect the default A330 this issue is relevant here.

During flight there are intermittent extreme slowdowns in the performance of the plane, while I usually can easily hold about 80-100FPS with FrameGen, the A330 in these moments drops the performance down to as lows as 20FPS with FrameGen.

This issue does happen repeatedly during flight and I can see in the WASM debug high execution times for the aircraft WASM module (more than 20ms in some cases)

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?

Every flight I tried this happens, but as shown only intermittently.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Fly the plane and monitor frames.

  2. Not 100% sure, but might be related to the sim loading? The issue seems to happen more often over PG areas.

The screenshots were taken just flying out of EGLL and departing east across the London area.

YOUR SETTINGS

If the issue still occurs with no mods and add-ons, please continue to report your issue. If not, please move this post to the User Support Hub.

What peripherals are you using: Thrustmaster Warthog and Crosswind Rudder pedals connected

[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it? Yes, but only for monitoring frames.

[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use? nVidia RTX 4090 Driver 581.08

[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share? AMD 9800X3D CPU, 64GB RAM

MEDIA

Please add a screenshot or video of the issue occurring.

Have you tried other aircraft and other areas, does it still happen? Does it seem similar to this current problem - Mainthread loads up more and more and doesn't recover

Yea, I actually noticed it the first time with the ini A350 while testing in LSZH. Since that is an addon plane, I couldn’t really post it here of course

But I was just curious if it would be the same for their other planes. And actually it proved to be the case for the A330, which actually IS a default plane.

Yeah, I’ve had similar in the default Max and 787. Interestingly, I found by turning off adaptive sync in monitor settings helped it become more stable. Then I just limited my fps to 60. I’m not noticing any tearing either. Not sure what the issue is tbh, SU3 has been a mixed bag so far.

Alright, looks to be fixed by the SU4 beta which was released tonight. Roughly the same area is now running smoothly with much higher frames than even the old baseline.
