ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
In the default A330, pressing ESC to pause flight, for more than a few seconds, results in Auto Pilot and or Flight Directors disconnecting - when you resume flight, chaos ensues.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
-
Create a flight plan and take off in the A330
-
Climb to Cruise and be established on Auto Pilot at Cruise
-
Press ESC to pause the flight… wait a few seconds before clicking “Resume”
-
Auto Pilot and Flight Directors will be disconnected, and it take significant effort and some skill to recover the flight.

MEDIA
Here is a screen shot of the pause… I will try to capture screen shots of what happens after clicking Resume on the next flight - I was too busy trying to save the flight! It did happen more than once.
This happened again yesterday. I was in flight, at cruise, weather was perfectly still… I went to Esc > Settings > Sounds to adjust the overly loud air conditioning packs, and when I click Resume, AP is disconnected, FDs are both disconnected, and the EICAS is saying BRAKES HOT or something like that… even though brakes had not been used, I was 2 hours in to a trans-Atlantic flight…
So even though 1 person can’t replicate, this is a chronic problem. I have a generic clean install of both Windows and MSFS, with only BeyondATC as an addon.
Is it possible that “pausing” the Inibuilds A330 is somehow applying the brakes at full cruise? Or, that when paused, the Inibuilds is still responding to mouse clicks that are being applied in the Settings window, but the plane is somehow receiving the mouse clicks as instructions in spite of not being in “focus”?
Yep, this keeps happening.
I’m in the A330-300 RR, FL380, Tail Wind of 20 kts, couldn’t be calmer.
Pressed ESC to go look at Settings (didn’t change anything). After about 20-30 seconds, clicked “Resume” and A330 had lost the plot completely:
- Flight Directors OFF (they were on)
- Auto Pilot OFF (it was on)
- Climbing at 8800 ft/min? (well established at cuise for 2 hrs)
- ALPHA-FLOOR stall warning
Does Microsoft have a good relationship with Inibuilds? This issue is easy to reproduce…
I got it yesterday and today in the A330-200. I did not go to settings first though. Just leveled off at cruise altitude after a few minutes the aircraft immediately went into climb and I noticed the AP1 was off Flight Directors were off A/THR was off and the aircraft was non recoverable.
I cannot replicate this either.
