AAU2 Can not load route from World Map [747-8i]

What worked nice before AAU2 is loading a map from the build-in world map into the 747. This however seems not longer to work. What am i doing wrong ? Can someone test this ?

Have you tried your sim without add-ons?
Does that happen with any other aircraft besides the 747?

Hi, My game is stock, with the exception of 2 skin packs. After some more testing i found out the issues are related to incontinently in the route. i now HAVE to set the sids & stars in the route correctly and have to check the MCU for discontinuity. If all is sorted out the plane finds the route. It’s a little more challenging than before. :slightly_smiling_face:

Me too. Not working both 747 and the 787 won’t load flight plans from the world map. Any Ideas or work arounds?

I haven’t had any issues importing flight plans created using the World Map. Since the upgrade I have logged 3 complete 787 flights for a total time of 1 hr 20 min. Also logged 3 complete 747 flights for a total time of 9 hr 43 min.

I can set the route like I always do but the flight plan fails to load in both 747 and 787. Are you on console or PC Pacific?

I only have a PC. What is displayed when it fails to load? In the past I’ve tried to load flight plans having invalid data and nothing is displayed on the World Map. Or do you mean the flight plan is displayed on the World Map but no route is shown in the FMC?

both 747 787 do the same thing. Other aircraft work as expected but only tested a few. Seems to be just the 2 Boeing.

What is sids and stars?

Can you upload one of your flight plans either here or send it to me in a message? Save the file as a PLN file (important!) while in the World Map after you create it before you press FLY.

If you are using a PC, have you tried using an empty Community folder which removes all your add-ons? There might be one or more add-ons interfering.

VANCALG.PLN (2.5 KB) Sorry for the late response was on holidays.

I looked at your flight plan and was able to load it into the 787 and 747 However, there are a number of steps you need to do before the flight plan is displayed or usable by the autopilot for navigation.

Everything you need to do is in the PDF tutorials supplied by MSFS. The link to the 747 tutorial was posted earlier by @xjay12347406. Here is the link again and the link to the 787 tutorial.

MSFS B747 Tutorial
MSFS B787 Tutorial

Your flight plan is a VFR direct flight from Calgary Intl to Vancouver Intl at FL365 or 36,500 ft. IRL this is an invalid flight plan because VFR flights are not permitted above 18,000 ft. However in MSFS anyone can fly anywhere using any routing. MSFS doesn’t check to see if the flight plan is valid and correct. As a matter of fact, if the autopilot isn’t used, a flight plan isn’t needed to fly VFR. Just start the engines and takeoff in the direction of your destination.

Your earlier question about SIDs and STARs indicate to me that you should take some additional training in flying airliners and how to fly using Instrument Flight Rules (IFR). The above tutorials only walk through the buttons to push, the knobs to twist, and the information that needs to be entered. They do not describe WHY those steps need to be done.

The answers to your questions are too large to fit into a response. I highly recommend you download and read the following publications from the FAA:

Pilot’s Handbook of Aeronautical Knowledge
Instrument Flying Handbook
Instrument Procedures Handbook

All my passenger jets are doing it. The 747, 787, the ATR, the A320 all fail to load the flight plan. The Beechcraft g58 loads it fine. I shouldn’t haver to take any steps the plan should load as it did before the update. It’ s broken. Any help to solve this would be great. All add-on were removed.

I create a flight plan with little navmap, load it and it works fine. There is a problem with the in game world map flight planner as it fails to load flight plans for many aircraft from the world map. This is a bug that needs to be fixed. I hope your listening MFSF.

There were significant changes made to avionics in the AAU2 update which means things we used to do may not work the same now. That doesn’t mean something is broken.

I am not sure why your flight plan you posted doesn’t work. It loads fine in my 787, 747, and other aircraft.

Creating flight plans with the app “little navmap” and loading them in MSFS works as it should. The AU update broke all my passenger jet flight plans created in the world map. There’s no reset so this has to be fixed in an update. Or doing a complete re-install…not. Since I can create and load flight plans just like I could before with the 3rd party app…This is the work around I was looking for.

Thanks for your input and I hope the team is listening.

Cheers,

Can you describe exactly what you mean by “broke”? Do you load a flight plan but the “fly” button doesn’t work? Or does the flight start but there isn’t any flight plan information in the FMC?

The World Map doesn’t create flight plans specifically for passenger jets (airliners like A320neo, 787, 747). A flight plan can be used (except for altitude limitations) by stock airplanes from the 747 to the152 even though the 152 doesn’t have GPS or autopilot. In other words, your flight plans should work in any stock aircraft.

Any additional info would be helpful.

No flight plan information in the FMC
Some aircraft do not have any trouble loading a flight plan from the world map. Seems it’s isolated to passenger jets.
