Let’s admit it, MSFS2024 ATC is pretty terrible, in its logic, as well as in the voice / intonation / phraseology. Several posts are asking how to remove it, but the answer is always to reduce character voice to 0 to avoid hearing it. This is a workaround that is not satisfying since its also removes the voices of the dialogs in career mode.
So please make a simple option to disable completely MSFS2024 ATC during freeflight (and probably career mode too…)

Do bush pilots even use an atc? I imagine they just take off from their backyards and fly freely.
Where radio usage is not required it’s still encouraged. Here for example you broadcast your intentions on the CTAF which is 122.9. You do need to be aware of possible NORDO aircraft.
I know on FS20 this effectively happened by simply not interacting with the ATC window at the start in free flight. If you ignored it, they ignored you and I don’t think it even tuned the radio. I thought it was the same in FS24, which would be a simple workaround, but it’s been so long since I’ve played it that I can’t remember.
That’s what I been doing in FS2024 for many hours and have no issue.
@MathieuSK, do you have any assistance option which would make the “assistant pilot” tune and chat with ATC on your behalf ? I have deactivated all assistance options. I just don’t talk to ATC, don’t set the radio frequency, and everything works fine on my side.
And I go on IVAO when I want to play with fellows ATC 
Well I don’t have this assistance option available, the only options related to ATC under Assistances are : AI Radio coms, and ATC enfore FPL. Both are unchecked. Could the setting you mention be somewhere else ?
I never interract with ATC and yet as soon as I start a flight directly from the RWY, I can read in the ATC window that the AI has already made all the communications from parking stand to runway, so when loading the aircraft on the runway, the AI makes the “Ready for straight out departure” call. If I start the flight cold and dark and don’t interract with ATC, I don’t have this problem indeed.
Thanks, the post mentionned is not mine and I think it is a separate issue since career mode relies a lot more in ATC. If we can combine the 2 posts for attention why not, but it should be made clear that an option only for free flight would be desirable, for those who wish to use career mode as intended. I would personally like to disable it completely since it’s broken, but it might not relfect the intention of everybody voting.

Why not just don’t tune your Com1 to ATC? Problem solved.

Your workaround includes muting all voices, whereas my solution does not. Besides, how would you not use ATC in real life? You simply wouldn’t tune them in. You would not insist they don’t exist.
I’m not suggesting a workaround I’m writing what I’ve read so far. I just find the ATC annoying and immersion breaking since even the intonation is completely off.
My point is : in FS2020, ATC was available if desired, but if not taking the initiative of contacting them myself, the character would not do it on its own. It would be silent. You could just start a flight, and takeoff. No need to change frenquency, turn volume off or whatever. This is not possible in FS2024.
(In real life, when I don’t make a radio call, there is no radio call, that’s it, but if we start talking about real life, FS2024 ATC is pretty much out of the question anyways)

My question here is “why is it different for you in 2024 ?”. To better explain myself : I do, in 2024, in Free Flight, all I did in 2020, meaning I don’t touch the radio. Nothing is happening with ATC, I never receive any message or request. And I did not have to turn voices off. You say “This is not possible in 2024”, I’d be enclined to say “it is possible because I’ve done that for the last 100h+”. But you’re not a liar, and I’m not either. So …
So, why is it different for you ? There’s definitely something happening to you that does not happen to me, and I can’t find it. Can you state what your experience is ? Is it like ATC spontaneously contacting you ?
Do you think it could be linked to you using the Planner (in game, or the web version) ? Maybe it turns the radio on the “right frequency” automatically ? I don’t use any planner, i never even declare where I’m going in freeflight (I just put my plane / heli on a parking and I do my own life).
